RE: RL Sads
I know I'm anthropomorphizing Bell (my dog) but it's so hard not to these days. We're tired, she's getting tired, but every time I think I'm closer to making hard decisions she plunks her head in my lap and demands attention.

RE: The Work Thread
It gets better after that, but I finally got myself into a better brainspace after calling that comment out to - well - everyone. Including HR.

RE: The Work Thread
I'm going to use the word-for-word quote of the tone-deaf individual that thought it was all right to respond to a company-wide email with the following:
Thanks for the feedback. I probably should not have smoked that crack before updating this yesterday.

RE: Real World Peeves, Disgruntlement, and Irks.
In my family, everyone on the maternal side that are my mother's age and under suffered their first loss.
I lost my second cousin to an illness that she consciously chose to no longer suffer the drug and therapy treatments for because they were too painful. She also made the conscious decision on how she handled her end of life care and beyond that.
I respect her incredibly for making such choices.
It's just really hard to see my mother and my aunt this upset and hurt about it.

RE: Books...Books...Books....
Some of the last things I've read lately:
The Riverside Trio of stories by Ellen Kushner. A Bordertown book. Barbra Kingsolver, Any kind of travel writing, any kind of food writing, Nonfiction memoirs, Holly Black, Ellen Datlow and Terri Windling, Kingkiller Chronicles.
I would like to broaden my scope and read other things.

@JinShei Who is an utter rockstar? YOU ARE.
All right, so, I need book suggestions. Not just books - but your FAVORITE book. Your Time Enough at Last episode of the Twilight Zone book. What is it? Why should I (or anyone else) read it?

RE: RL things I love
EBooks! Audiobooks! A library that offers both without needing to go in person!
Is there a book thread? I need recommendations.
