@Brunocerous That's a rather unusual configuration, but it makes sense that you wouldn't be able to connect if you only have an IPv6 address. Both AresCentral and Gray Harbor are hosted on Digital Ocean, and they do not enable IPv6 by default.

I'd suggest asking the person who controls the network at the house you're staying up how you can get an IPv4 address. You can also double check that you don't have an IPv4 address at: https://test-ipv6.com/ The first line SHOULD read: Your IPv4 address on the public Internet appears to be ###.###.###.###.

The sequel to A Memory Called Empire just came out. It's called A Desolation Called Peace.

This is a bit out of place, but I'm working on a relative's computer remotely that rebooted for the last big Windows update (20H2 I think?) and can't seem to pick up an IPv4 address from the router, but IPv6 works. I wonder if whatever's going on here is actually what's happened with @Brunocerous 's situation.

@sixregrets This is a very interesting thing to me as it's one of my fave genres, and it might be helpful to you to know - if you didn't already - that 'cosmic horror' is usually the go-to descriptor for control/lovecraft/xfiles-esque biz

Yeah, I just tend to shy away from that label because usually the next word out that comes up is Lovecraftian, and then that brings out all sorts of racist weirdos.

I haven't played it (though I just got it since it's free) but it seems similar in concept to Prey by the makers of Dishonored. If you like Control you might like those as well.

Prey was free on the 25th, actually! I love both of those games but I'd really only call them similar to theming to a degree. Prey is an immersive sim, while Control is more of a shooter. Prey is more about fighting monsters - Control's enemies are considerably more on the human side of things in terms of appearance.

I'd suggest burning down the building(s), but enough of the world is on fire at the moment.

The irony is that he works for Media Matters for America, a left-wing political activist group.

MMFA is liberal, not left-wing, but yes.

I don't think I've ever forgotten perishable groceries before, but I have forgotten things like the hot dinner that I've just picked up. And then half an hour after getting situated inside, I'll realize that I'm hungry and go.. wait a minute.

      @RightMeow

I don't care who you are or where you've been or what you did, as long as you let kittens warm your heart.

We have an office cat. Office cat loves me. Fates willing, I will have a kitty in the new year.

And then y'all will never see me again because I'll be loving it totally and wholly alla time.

Adding 'office cat' to my list of ideas for the game I'm working on, don't mind me none.

realizing that I basically want to make a game about every book or piece of media that isn't a movie or song, except then I don't

most of a concept cooked up involving elements from one of the books from the Wayfarers series by Becky Chambers, currently reading Walkaway by Cory Doctorow and feeling a few ideas percolating..

This is incredibly small potatoes given the whole everything going on, but the continued unavailability of Sprite Zero (even in two litre bottles, now, was just cans before) this year is really starting to get on my nerves.

@sixregrets Gotta work on one game before multiple xD

I don't mean multiple games, or even a multiple-genre game! Another way of putting it is that while my preference would be SF (as tough as that is for a game), I'd be interested in playing if a game was one of the other genres as well with the overarching theme along the lines of Stardew Valley, setting up a colony, etc.

There's a list here, but it's basically all machines made by Respironics in the last decade and a bit: https://www.philips.ca/healthcare/e/sleep/communications/src-update

The key takeaway seems to be that if you're using an ozone generator to clean your machine, stop doing that. Now.
