RE: MUs That We Would Love To Make (But Won't)
Lazy interest check: mostly-social sandbox on a space station above a mostly-fucked earth? I'd probably be inclined to run it statless, but there'd be some plot to it to keep things moving.
Different from The 100, in that the surface would be used for strip mining for resources, and the space station wouldn't be on the verge of falling apart.

@Arkandel Seems to be working now to my Gmail address! Requested a password reset email and it showed up right away. Thanks.

@GreenFlashlight That's... creepy as fuck. Seriously, what the hell is wrong with people? Don't approach a guest, tell them what to app unless they bloody well ask for an IC in to your own char or something.
I think the logic goes something like, "I'm horny; I can't understand other people except as they can fulfill my desires; therefore let me tell you my genuinely disturbing and sometimes criminal fantasies."
Isn't that what Shangrila is for, though? Why does it need to escape that particular quarantine zone?

RE: Like Stardew Valley? Fill out this form...
IMO, genre should be a checkbox rather than a radio button. I think I'd play a game like this with anything other than a fantasy setting.

RE: Don't Join Discord Servers!!!
This sort of uninformed fearmongering doesn't really help anyone.

RE: Health and Wealth and GrownUp Stuff
Woke up today to a notice that my Respironics CPAP has been recalled, then found that my older backup/travel CPAP in the closet has also been recalled. Clapping extremely slowly.

RE: 'The Magicians' again -- time period?
@il-volpe Yes, but getting my feet wet with Ruby's taking a bit longer than anticipated. Don't hold your breath on my part.

RE: Lack of email from MSB
Hello! I hadn't actually tried posting until now, but if you're reading this, then yes, I can post. But yeah, I haven't received a confirmation email or password reset emails (as a test to see if it was any emails or just possibly confirmation emails being disabled/broken at the moment). Thanks all!

What do you mean? I can go to an individual page for a long-running forum thread in Discoure on the Ares forum.
I was referring to a particular page in a thread, not a 'web page'. Conventional forums having 20 or 40 posts per page in a given thread, for example. I don't believe that Discourse separates posts into separate pages for display.

RE: RL things I love
If I recall correctly, the experts say that you're supposed to punch 'em in the schnoz if you're needing to fight one off.

RE: Spitballing for a supers Mush
Please don't interpret this as an attempt to argue with you about your decision to run Rhost or anything not Ares, but Ares is perfectly capable of running on a self hosted machine (or VM, even), though it's not as easy to set up. Is it a matter of Ares's additional requirements not being available on the host you have access to?
I'm somewhat new to the MUSH scene, but not particularly new to MU*s. I feel pretty strongly that Ares is the way of the future in terms of accessibility and growing the community's player base, with a lot of younger folks not quite being willing to learn what 'telnet' is..

RE: Why are there so many MUs set in Maine?
@ganymede said in Why are there so many MUs set in Maine?:
When you say "Bad Things," do you mean the complete collapse of the Eagles franchise, the historically-inconsistent play of the Flyers, the constant disappointment of the 76ers, or the karmic abyss of the Phillies?
Like, help me out here.

The purpose of the board is a safe venting space, not some sort of weird drama archive, right?

RE: RL Sads
Aw, I'm sorry. It sucks to lose a pet, even if you know it's coming.

RE: 'The Magicians' again -- time period?
Wait, did I miss out on a Magicians game? I don't think I'd be terribly interested in it set in the past, but I'd play the hell out of a modern or even slightly futuristic setting.
-
RE: Why no Star Trek games?
I'm pretty new to MUSHing in general, but I've noticed a dire shortage of science fiction games entirely. Dozens upon dozens of L&L games, but looking for something modern, let alone something with a futuristic theme, is bound to be slim pickings.

Not a huge fan of this whole internet outage thing that's been going on in the US this morning.

RE: 'The Magicians' again -- time period?
@il-volpe I'd be willing to give it a shot, though I'd certainly put myself into the neophyte category at this point.
