I had a feeling they were going to do this, although I expected the worst case scenario. At least they're not closing entirely.

They were nice enough to give people time to wrap up their stories but I had just gotten my PC to where she had a story so it would have taken quite some time to where I felt like she could have had a 'the end'. She was just enthralled by her Regnant, had a growing relationship with another vampire that was just starting to get underway... yeah, kind of hard to finish things off when things just begun unless you do a lot of fastforwarding and stuff.

And on the subject of my rant, I get that it's useful. It just... I dunno! It always winds up making me feel guilty, the serving suggestion does. Maybe that's what it's meant for, I dunno. It's the food people's way of saying 'gawd, you ate the ENTIRE BAG of chips when it has 10 servings in it? SHAME ON YOU!' subliminally.

A little ranty out--of-nowhere kind of complaint:

I really fucking hate all these damn 'serving suggestions'. I get that it is what the FDA or whomever figures that shit out thinks is ideal for someone on an x-a-day calorie diet to consume but seriously? How many people can actually eat 24 potato chips or 3 fucking cookies and feel satisfied? I sure as hell can't, says the person who can (and has) finished off a whole bag of poato chips at one time (and I have NO regrets!).

Oh, I know that such claims are not uncommon online. Definitely been around long enough to have seen that more than once. I just kind of find it... I don't know. not amusing. Not annoying. Not quite sure how to put it.

To kind of go along with my original rant here:

Recently I made a friend with this kid ('kid' used as he's not much older than my 19 year old son) who was complaining about how the state he lives in has allowed the first Syrian refuges in. During his ignorance-fueled rant, he made mention of how it is okay because he and his friends all have guns and how they're all "tactical". I get that he was trying to impress upon me the fact that they could take care of themselves if needed(or so he says, I kind of have doubts about that as this is not the set of Red Dawn), but it really just kind of sounds like something some guy pretending to be former military might use as a pick up line to get some drunk girl at a bar into his bed.

"I was SpecOps in the (insert branch of military here). I am totally tactical, baby."

Part of me wishes I had called him out on that. Ah well.

I've been sitting here, trying to formulate a response to what has been said since my first post but I find myself unable to. I don't know much about the Middle East or its culture, what little I do know being Americanized news reports on ISIS and other similar groups and all that, which makes me pretty damn ignorant. So I think I'll just sit here and nod while wishing all of it all would just stop.
