I feel like no arguments get more heated in the constructive part of the forum than arguments about our moderation standards. I've now read this whole thread and I'm honestly not sure why.

Yeah. I asked for examples of people dogpiling for no reason, and I was delivered it in spades.

@insomnia Thanks for the cookie. And don't worry about it. If I had an issue with anything you said I'd address it personally. Way I see it, you weren't really attacking anyone nor shitting up the thread and so I think that's respectful and deserves respect in turn.

@auspice dick is a gendered insult, but I have yet to see anyone politely ask others not to call them a dick because it's gendered and that's not cool and be laughed at. Wee little straw man, there.
I had actually been trying to use "dick" instead of any female-gendered insult because a little turnabout is fair play (even if an eye for an eye makes the world blind). I think I've come down to "asshole is better."
Nobody take that wrong, please.

@shincashay I'm inclined to agree. I hoped for something useful to get input from, but any signal is completely lost to the noise.
Locking it, with apologies to those of you who I know tried to contribute in good faith.
