Then once I got a PC, I still remember the original Wing Commander on my VGA which was like... 11 floppies? But I had a hard drive to copy it to, guys! All 40 MB of it ("what are you going to do with all that space man? That's for professional computers" the person at the store had counselled me) and my friends were marvelling at the graphics. One of them went, "holy shit, it looks just like Star Wars!".

I still love the Wing Commander theme. There's so many great iconic video game theme songs and soundtracks from that era.

I still have a Roland MT-32, and man, sometimes booting up old DOSBox games with MT-32 support... I mean, the MT-32 version of the Monkey Island 2 soundtrack still holds up well.

Because Michael Z. Land was a flipping genius. Besides occasionally touching video game music, last I remember hearing from MixNMojo over a decade ago was that he was playing with his band. Must be nice.

World of Warcraft's next expansion is Battle For Azeroth, and it has a ton of new features, some of which are... really interesting.

It's going to be a much different expansion than we've seen in the past.

So, I'm currently obsessed with the 'Lords of Waterdeep' digital boardgame on Steam. If anyone here plays, let me know.

I’ve played it a few times on the real board and wouldn’t mind giving it a few more plays. Our group usually goes for games much heavier, but it’s got a nice Catan weight to it that is fun with the right people.

@thenomain Agreed. It's good for playing after a long day at work, and requires way less effort than getting the whole group together for Divinity 2.

Someone told me that Stormbirds were hard.

                        They ain’t hard.

Upright orcs, goddammit. At last. And potentially seeing cities we've been walking in for more than a decade fall into enemy hands will be awesome.

I need to figure out what race/class to play. Love'em druids but it's been an expansion and a half now, I'm due for a change... and I don't know if I will require the class to have a tank spec this time.

Fuck you, yes they are hard.

They're especially hard when while fighting a Stormbird, you unknowningly stumble into an area that's being occupied by a pair of Rockbreakers. Then it becomes a nightmarish party.

Well, yeah. Rockbreakers suck. Their hit-registration is through the roof for no good fucking reason.

But Stormbirds? Easy as pie. They are slow as shit on the ground, and you can pound them with Hardpoints. Heck, they even get stunned on the regular, and that can let you tear off their engines right quick.

Thunderjaws are a bit tougher, but they sort of try to stare you down, which is not a good tactic when you've got their disc throwers.

So, still in early access so I do hesitate to recommend it outright, but I picked up 'Dead Sky Derelicts' and rather love it.

Think a grungy retro-future Darkest Dungeons type affair with some amazingly well directed art and a cool core gameplay loop. You take a three person team through ancient space derelicts to loot them whilst constantly keeping an eye on your life support power, medical expenses being immensely expensive when people are inevitably injured.

The early access only has 2-3 hours of content but you can also only take three people out of six rather different classes, I actually played through the whole thing twice and very much enjoyed both times.

I've been keeping an eye on this game. It is going to be a good purchase when it goes live.

I've been kind of fixating on 7 days to die lately, and how interesting I can make my 'base'.

The game is legit fun, graphics are pretty low end, but it's still Alpha and still entertaining as hell.

That game has come a long long way since I first reviewed it in early 2014. I am glad to see the devs are still supporting it.
