      Okay:

I was basically going to fast forward through the waves of birds, and have the big bad show up as a giant FUCK YOU BIRD just as the ritual finished, but instead of having the NPCs all do smash-big attacks...

They were basically going to merge into you guys, giving you the power they had just gathered. And you were all going to get the equiv of wyrd:10 for the end of the scene and elemental attacks and get to go to town on Kahu to take him out.

And get all your memories back after you finished off Kahu.

I'm sorry to hear the game is going down - it was great to see it up again! I didn't stay just because the system no longer really does it for me, but I was so happy you brought it back. You did a good thing - and it sounds like people really had fun while it was up. That's all any game can ever ask to provide.

@cobaltasaurus Cool. 😃 What was the story behind Kahu and the obsidian mirror one? Were they really proto-Gentry, or was there something else going on?

We're done, I'm not going to keep dragging the ghost around anymore.
I'm sorry to all the folks I let down.

It's better to have Darkwatered and shut down than never to have Darkwatered at all.

(I think, I never actually Darkwatered, but I've heard good things from people who did)

Don't beat yourself up. From everything I heard, people had a great time, and you can be proud of that. You're one of the most generally well liked people in the hobby because of your willingness to put time and effort into things for other people, and running things for people is just another example of that. There will always be parts that don't work out how we want, but it doesn't take away from the fun people had.

some fucking idiot who people only like because he's good at taking credit for the work of everyone under him, just like every other fucking L&L headwiz.

@Cobaltasaurus I for one am glad that you brought back Darkwater for a bit. It let me revisit my old PCs: to see how one of them has changed and progressed in 10 years, and another actually saw a major development this time around. Not to mention the Assault on the Fraternity House - finally got to see my Ling in an actual fight. That was both memorable and awesome.

Darkwater 2.0 never picked up the way 1.0 did (probably because of the 1e system), and the playerbase remained small all along. That being said, that small playerbase was inordinately active, and ironically you could usually find more RP there than much larger games. Short as it was, I think it was a damn good run. You should be proud of it.

It was a >horribly< mess. An absolute horrible mess. And toward the end there was some stuff (re: Eddie's regaining some memories while talking to Sophia) that I was like: Goddamn that would have been awesome to do on screen.

But they were a cross between proto-gentry and gods, basically they were things that would have created the first Gentry. And, yes, for anyone curious they were based a bit off of Aztec and Mayan mythology. A >bit<, I could have done way more research than I did.

Cobalt, thank you so much for the chance to play an old character and play with people old and new. Your health is more important than this hobby, so I'm good with letting the curtain fall.

                    Best of luck to you.

I returned to the hobby on Darkwater after being away for years and years, and enjoyed every single minute of it. I had more activity on that game than on many big ones. Loved it, and am grateful for the chance to come back to the hobby with so nice people. Cobalt, I hope we run into each other on other games - we never did get to RP much, but I loved the scenes we did have. 🙂 And I'm going to follow the little crowd to FC once it opens. Audgrim as a lifeguard on the beach - how could I go wrong with that, eh? 😄

@cobaltasaurus Ah, bummer! Life went sideways on me unexpectedly and I dropped off the world for a bit. Returned to find the game no more! Sorry I missed the end, but totally understand. Thanks for giving us old timers a chance to relive the fun that was Darkwater!

I was pretty bummed to see Darkwater close. Jim Harris was probably one of the best characters I've ever gotten to play. You all will be missed, for sure.

@burgerslave Mr. Harris! Some of us are eyeing this place to have our characters travel to http://www.musoapbox.net/topic/2283/san-francisco-paris-of-the-west - if we don't hit up the upcoming Miami game. Perhaps an idea?

Haha! No, not at all! I was totally down for making her on FH but nobody else seemed to be, and I already have something in mind for Fallcoast when it opened, so I didn't want to make her there. But if there's another options where people are going, HELL YEAH!

That's so cool. For some reason I always loved characters moving between games, despite the impracticalities involved.

@arkandel Darkwater and The Reaxh existed in the same universe. Soma and I worked out how to connect them.
