I don't like being called things like "kiddo" and "baby". I find them infantilizing. So when I ask people to stop, I try to do it politely.
I am not interested in you explaining to me what "kiddo" means, nor am I interested in you listing the other terms of endearment you enjoy using. If I ask you politely not to call me something, be a decent person and stop. Ask me if x,y, or z is okay instead if you like, or ask for a suggestion.
Because it's not about how you regard the term, it's about how the term makes me feel.

Pneumonia Sucks. Pneumonia in the goddamn fucking summer sucks. Having to give up my sweet lucrative easy $$$$$$$$ delivering for my favorite Amazon warehouse after prime day for the rest of this week/end makes me wanna cry.

I've been using the same goddamned printer in my office for 8+ years. Why or how the fuck they always seem to fucking forget to get printer cartridges for me is ludicrous.
I'm about to just buy a whole box of them, and charge it to the firm.

My honest opinion on that is that if you work with a lot of standardized documents (and as a lawyer, you do), laser printers are not only more cost effective but have way less headache potential for you.
My job has tipped in to 'definitely must get new one' territory.
I'm exhausted. I'm annoyed. I'm angry.
We're a team of 4. Our 'working hours' span from 6a-9p. There's the 6a-3p guy. The 8a-5p guy. The 11a-7p guy. And me from 3-9p or 4-9p (because I have another project that I'm beholden to at the moment in the mornings).
Except these guys have so complained that 'daytime is too hard' that the 11a-7p guy is now a 2nd 8a-5p guy.
So I spend 4 hours a day working solo. The calls don't generally cut off until 8p. The other 3 also like to leave a lot of work for me. Our PMs and the client also hand me special projects because these 3 have been so vocal in their complaints they have them convinced that I do nothing at night.
I walk in the door at 4 and before I've even sat down, it's 'can you get on the phones? We need a break.' and generally, they've left before it's even 5p. Some days they'll cut out at 4:30p.
And if a call is missed? We get reamed. So if I, oh... go use the restroom? And some executive calls in needing assistance? I will get chewed out to no end. I have had days where I don't even get through half the dinner I bring with me because I am so busy.
And that's not counting the 'oh btw we forgot to do all this work earlier this week and it's due tomorrow sorry bye' they leave on me.
Long and short of it: I'm not gonna give a 2 week notice if I get this new job. If Atlassian calls me back Monday and says 'Hey, can you start on the 30th?'

Oh, yeah, forgot the real fun part:
I got pulled over last night on suspicion of drunk driving. That is how tired I am. The line of questioning stopped when he asked how much sleep I've been getting and I said 'Not much. There's a truck in my complex that parks outside my window whose alarm keeps going off. I reported it to the APD a couple days ago.'
(Yeah, said truck moved for a day? Then came back. It now has a resident tag. Alarm doesn't go off AS often, but it still does. 
)

Thankfully, the associate and partner that left in the past 7 months, and dropped all of their caseload on me, left their printers unguarded and their doors unbarred.
So my desktop has started to misbehave seriously. It began today with no changes having been made.
It works fine for about ten minutes then the Internet stops working, with bad gateway messages.
Restarting immediately fixes it but then it happens again ten minutes later. I have tried reinstalling and updating drivers, restarting the router, etc. The Internet works fine for everything else and I am using ethernet.
No idea what might be causing it but it sure is annoying!
@packrat Have you checked your browser's proxy settings? It sounds like something's trying to intercept the requests and then falling over.
Also check and see what your network name is. Almost sounds like Utopia.
I tried changing the gateway addresses and similar now that I am done with work.
No luck, the computer also seems to work fine if I USB tether my phone into it but that is not me getting to use my lovely fiber optic connection.
So probably something wrong with the network adapter but I do not know what would cause it to work for about ten minutes then fall over. I cannot even work out how to get it working again other than a full computer restart.
@packrat It sounds like it's your network card (which is among the cheapest and easiest things to fix, too). Just go your local Best Buy, grab a new card and it should be fine, other than the inconvenience.

See what I like about Best Buy is how convenient it is to return things when you're testing something. I buy 99% of my shit from Amazon just because it has variety (which big box stores simply do not, they give you like... three options for anything), but for example when I wanted to check some ethernet-over-power adapters I could just go to the local BB, grab a box, try it out and if it didn't work to my satisfaction after a couple of days I could switch it for another pair.
With Amazon I need to find boxes, print out a label, etc.

Then again, I have the great fortune to be within a stone's throw of Fry's-With-a-Soul. Well, at least my local version is supremely good, and makes Best Buy a laughable second.

@thenomain I feel kinda bad doing that to non-major chains. Like there is prooobably a Canada's Computers on my way to work and a couple of smaller holes in the wall I could do that with, but then they lose money on me if I don't find anything I like.
With BB I have no reservations. Fuck'em.
Here's the current state of things:
If you buy a TV or computer on sale (or iPad on sale) and don't buy anything else, the company you're buying from is probably losing money, or coming close.
If you are buying cables, paper, ink, insurance (and there is good reason to buy the insurance, but be very careful about it), then buy from a store you like. Especially if you are buying stuff with a low-margin item (c.f. TV, computer, iPad). They are okay on the returns if you are this kind of purchaser; you will be back and they will make the money to stay in business.
This commentary is specifically for tech stores.
Micro Center carries so much stuff that they often look like a warehouse more than a high-class store. As much as this could make them look junky, I find that this is in their favor; Best Buy looks like a 90s mall outlet with, as you say, about 3 things in any given category. And while BB is turning things around, their customer service is still largely shit.
