      Boom.

@Aria I actually passed on GnR despite being a fan (which I think means liking Appetite, Lies, and half of the 2 Illusion albums). The stuff Slash has been up to with Myles Kennedy I think is so much better, and I kinda wished they just hired Myles as GnR's new lead singer.

Everyone that went says it was great, though. So maybe I did miss out.

Delete the Hog Pit. It'll be fun.

I saw them twice on the "Not in This Lifetime Tour". The first time was at an outdoor stadium during a horrendous summer heat wave. Like.... we spent more money on water than on merch in an effort not to pass out. Axl literally changed his shirt between every single song. By the time we got back to our car at 1AM, it had dropped to being only 98 degrees in the parking lot. I was (physically) miserable the entire time.

        And we still had enough fun that I bought tickets on their second stop. I think I heard he might be touring with AC/DC again? I dunno. I didn't see that tour, but I want to. Sadly, we're not going to many concerts this year because weddings are fucking expensive. >:-{

@Ghost You mentioned the Offspring, and I was just amused that when we saw them a few years back (they were doing all of Smash), they were on last for the show. Dexter started off addressing the crowd to the effects of "and thanks to all of you for not leaving after the Vandals! I probably wouldn't have stayed to see us after the Vandals!"

Dave Quackenbush was on vocals, if that's what you mean. It was back in 2014 and they were touring with Pennywise and Bad Religion for a four-band show. I missed the pit, though, 'cause that was the summer I had a cast on my foot.

@Aria I was being a goof, sorry about that, I figured you meant 80s Vandals. The other ones are the British Vandals (70s punk with Ali Moyet on vocals). But they might be more obscure, in the vein of Beastie Boys starting as a punk/thrash outfit before busting rhymes.

@Lotherio The Vandals are great. Man, almost all of that Epitaph Records new wave punk pre Blink 182 era stuff is solid. Rancid, Nofx, Bad Religion, Offspring...

That was a good era of music.

I was trying not to get into the topic here or on other thread for fear of feeling old. I remember NoFx at the Capital before it closed downtown. I remember skipping to Lincoln in the 90s to catch old Fear, still touring in the 90s. Why yes Fear, I will have a Beer with Fear.

@Lotherio Yeah, my Rancid, Offspring, Ritual Device show where Eric Melvin showed up was at the Ranch Bowl.

                      RIP the Ranch Bowl

@Ghost I remember in the rather early 80s one of the local channels did a show with some video and would interview bands. I want to say 85 or 86 they had Chili Peppers or something on. Can't say I'm a fan of much of their recordings but as a live touring band trying to get going with a label, they were good (like Beastie Boys before hip hop, but I do like the change too)

Ohh! Derp. Yes, I know both bands. I thought you were referring to their lineup changes. Like.... I have seen Danzig. I have seen the Misfits. I have NOT seen Danzig with the Misfits, and that makes a difference to people.

@Aria Yanno, the song Motherhas an entirely different tone to it when it's sung by a guy in his late 20s covered in muscles. Now it's sung by a guy in his 60s with dadbod.

Do you think when people call it "Sam Hain" that Glenn goes "Wait wait wait...it's SOWWW-wenn"?

@Ghost .....try seeing a 70-something Roger Daltrey/Pete Townsend sing "My Generation" live. At least Townsend has the grace and perspective to burst out laughing about the "hope I die before I get old" line.

I got to see GnR during the Use Your Illusion tour, it was awesome! They were walking out of shows left and right on that tour, but they played for nearly 3 hours when they came to my town.

Also, I got to see SUB HUM ANS last summer, too, they were amazing, if it wasn't for the singer making fun of two narbos in the crowd, I would have sworn they were lipsyncing it was so good.
