I am from the San Diego area originally, grew up using 'soda'. My dad, who is from Michigan, always called it 'pop'. Guess it just depends on what part of the country you're from. Very regional.

Very occasionally do I use soda which is mostly just when speaking to people online so they know what I mean, I think.

Mostly I call 'em 'soft drink'.

@Jaded I live in Louisville. The southern "Coke" thing is mainly on the southern side of the city, and it's dying out.
