      So Inquisitors.

      What've you been up to?

I've cleared most of the explorable areas and am now finally focusing on the storyline. As a mild spoiler I totally pissed off Morrigan. Just recently. ^_^

      Whoops.

@Cobaltasaurus I'm holding off on my next major playthrough, so I've only done my one.

My very handsome elf mage made out with the tevinter with a horrible mustache and looked like a girl from the back at all times, have I mentioned I hate the elf bodies ever since DA2? Hate.

But I pissed off Morrigan too. I mean hello, elf mage, who better then me to do that thing that pisses her off? Its mine by rights!

Knight-Enchanter is one seriously like extremely OP thing, especially if you craft yourself some Guard on Hit armor. I could practically solo dragons. On the off chance the dragon got my barrier down -- rare, but happened -- it almost never got through my Guard. Let alone my mere health.

        But it was pretty satisfying.

I sided with the Mages because again, mage. Next time I'm gonna side with the Templars.

Exactly how bad on the scale of bad people is it that I wish Cole was cuddleable? I think fairly bad.

Also I'm disappointed I can't find a reason to burn Viv at the steak. I mean she's a cool lady (and I like seeing some women of color in the world), but she's so adamantly opposed to everything I believe in (in this playthrough) and hey I'm the Inquisitor and whats an Inquisitor without some burning at the stakes of my enemies? I swear that was in the handbook somewhere.

I love Cassandra so much I'd almost go bi for her, but I respect her too much for that.

My next playthrough is gonna be a human stabby guy who takes on the Tempest spec. That looks badass.

I haven't quite beaten it yet, but I'll probably take a break between playthroughs. I've got like 180+ hours into it now. (Good lord, how did that happen?). I like Vivienne as a concept, but I hate having her in the party. She's such a /bitch/. Goodness.

If I hear her tell Cole to fall back into the fade one more damned time. >_<

Although it was heartening when she said that she was the only one she trusted to do the thing that pissed Morrigan off.

I suppose the Knight-Enchanter is over-powered. Just a little. I do enjoy solo-ing on giants.

It's a solid game, and it's probably great on a PC that can handle the graphics. For me, I can't get over how poorly-polished it is for the console. Play-wise, it's smooth, but the movements and graphics are unpolished, and the game crashes more often than it rightfully should.

            I fucking hate EA.

I hear it won 2014 Game of the Year. It still doesn't hold a candle to 2013's. Not even close. Then again, I don't expect that many games will for a long time.

@Ganymede: I don't think I've ever had the came crash for me (I'm on PS3). It may have ... once? And that might have been the PS3, which I have been having problems with lately. The f'ing thing won't stay connected to the PSN lately. Not since the last big update they did there.

The graphics on the PS3 are ... well it isn't /ugly/? But good god the shininess. And the hair. For the first time ever I prefer baldness. πŸ˜• All of my next characters are my first will be bald. And have no makeup. Good lord, I regret the makeup on my qunari. She looks like a clown. A garish, horned clown.

The sort of problems I experience are signs of an unpolished release, which is a shame. I think a majority of DA:I players are on a older-gen console of some sort, so it's shitty when the developer decides to ignore those gamers in favor of those who own newer consoles or PCs. I mean, I understand why, but it's still shitty.

I was surprised by much of the poorer qualities. Especially the graphics. In my opinion DA2 lookee better. I shouldn't have been surprised, but I was.

For the record: I like Sera based upon my character's personality. I like all of them but Vivienne, so far, based on same, meaning they are, in my book, well-rounded and fantastically written.

Vivienne is kinder to you right off the bat if you're a human noble. Many opening conversations are smoother if you're human, the racists.

Practically? You CAN solo dragons. I went and solo'd the lvl 19, 21, and 23 dragons in EDL at (my) level 19, 20, and 21 respectively. It wasn't even especially difficult. KE is wildly over the top when it comes to taking on large single targets, and even most group things.

Time flies when you're having fun, but the PS3 and Xbox 360 are both heading into being nearly a decade old. I don't think it's at all shitty for game companies to dedicate fewer resources to older consoles when by 'older' we mean 'approaching a decade'.

Technology advances pretty quickly, and one of the reasons consoles have the issues they do is that they operate at a fixed point in tech progression. I admit I'd prefer if rather than poor execution they'd just not release on older hardware, but then there'd be a ton of bitching as well. Look at all the people losing their minds over games coming out with system requirements that aren't twenty years old.. So a (~)ten year old console gets a poorly optimized port because Inevitable Bitching + Money Spent is preferable to Inevitable Bitching + No Money Spent.

                          Raptor,

I don't put out shitty product even if I'm arguing before a small claims court. Good lawyers put out good product regardless of their client or venue.

Same with good game companies. Don't put out shitty products. I'd rather it not be released for the lower-generation consoles if they're going to put out shit.

                            Sure, me too.

But there's plenty of people who are hapier buying and bitching than they would be if they were unable to get it at all, and in only one of those two ways does the company make money off of it.

So given that doing a good job of it isn't viable with the resources at hand, I can't really call it shitty for them to choose the best worst option.

I said 'practically' only because I never really tried to actually solo a dragon. I took teams in, underlevelled a bit more then you did, and yeah sometimes my rogue died (rogues are so fragile in DAI) briefly, and really that first dragon was the hardest because it had real raid like mechanics going on and wasn't just a tank and spank, but -- I had no fear at all. Worst case scenario, everyone dies and I kill the dragon a bit slower.

A KE, especially if you craft a Guard on Hit armor, is flatly invincible.

It made me decide that "Guard" as an craftable trait on non-Warriors is a flat out exploit. I'd ban me if I could!

Then again even without Guard, the KE barrier abilities are about as perfectly synergistic as someone could design. Barrier up, do more damage and regen much more! Hit things, barrier is recharged. etc.

I'm intentionally taking a bit of a break before I take my Rogue (to be Tempest, because it looks very fun) farther on so the game feels new-ish again when I play it again, but I'm still looking forward to it. Maybe this weekend.

                                Really? PC or console?

I found the graphics on PC to be superior to DA2. By more then a little. I guess that's subjective, though.

But if we're talking last-gen console there may be a difference, I don't know. I've always played DA on PC.

I mean, I thought a lot of scenes and lighting DA2 did in areas was downright sublime -- they had some beautifully crafted area effects. My objection to DA2 was they then reused them and it all felt boring by chapter two -- going through that same cave again, even in a different direction and with different parts blocked off, does not a new environment make.

I thought there were a lot of scenes in DAI that were stunningly beautiful, but I don't think it may have had the artistry in lighting/exposure. I may be wrong: I could only play DA2 once, and I remember vividly sitting sorta watching an environment randomly in the first third of the game, and while I thought a lot of DAI was utterly beautiful I wasn't surprised the way I was in DA2's exposure. I don't know if that means DA2 had 'better' graphics or not, but on just... memory? I wasn't disappointed by the look and feel of DAI at all. To the contrary, in fact.

                                  @ixokai PS3.

I may someday acquire another copy for the pc, but I need to upgrade the graphics card first. I have a nice computer, save for a low end graphics card. I just don't use it much.

I need a car more than I need to fuss with my computer.

This is closer to: You're representing a number of clients in a class-action. If a single person complains how you're doing things, or a CEO who is funding most of your effort complains how you're doing things, who do you put priority to?

Both metaphors are way off-base, but I think this one is better.

So, from what I'm understanding regarding this thread, Dragon Age: Inquisition is a game where you play magical lawyers who set fire to people and fight giants and dragons.
