To each their own GARBAGE TELEVISION I guess
Eta: I kid I kid it is not garbage. On a technical level it was actually really good and that kept me watching. Just too bleak for me overall.
-
Too bleak? Why can't you stand a little bleakness in your life after the absolutely sunny and positive year and a half we have had?

I was forced to sit through the second Space Jam movie with two children.
It was so boring one of them fell asleep some time after the first third of the film. Please, protect your family. Protect yourself. Don't make my mistake.
-
@de-villefort I've already informed my son that he is welcome to watch it... without me. No interest.

The Irregulars on Netflix. I couldn't finish it. Also, back off of my Black Summer. >:P It's meant to be bleak.

Look, you have the Cycle of the Uncanny Valley.
First, you get zombies.
Then you get demons/fairies/anthro monsters.
Then you get clowns.
Then back to zombies.
We just got done wtih clowns again. Now you get more zombies.
This is the way.
-
My favorite article explaining zombie popularity was on Cracked and explained there is cycle between zombie and vampire media. When the right is in power, we get mindless hordes of consumers that all conform and can't think. When the left is in power, we get sexy, deviant foreigners that are parasites.

@silverfox Fairly certain it loosely follows the Marvel Zombies limited series a few years ago, back when DC was doing Brightest Day Darkest Night, which was also kind of undead based.
And in the comics, it pretty much ended the same way.
Also, DC is doing a series called DCeased, which is another undead/zombie storyline. But I will say that was a fascinating storyline.

The Last of Us is filming.
Go zombies!
Have you played Days Gone? I am convinced that it would do fantastically as a screen adaptation too.

adds to no never ever watch list

Look.
LOOK,
No matter what you think of Zombies, The Last of Us is some of the best storytelling this century and I can watch it over and over again even knowing that it's gonna go right for the feels.
-
This.
Best storytelling ever.
So much the HBO is apparently dropping more per episode than on GoT.
Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey.
Done.
-
I have such high hopes! The casting seems great. I honestly just hope they stick to the first game and then peace out, as that's where the storytelling was strongest.
(No, I'm not one of those Last of Us 2 detractors (Big Yikes, No Thanks), I just found I preferred the conflict and ambiguity offered by the first game's narrative.)

Netflix did well with Sapkowski’s material. I can’t imagine HBO fucking up Druckmann’s shit.
