@il-volpe I very much needed this today, after making a post about bisexual energy from a fictional couple, and having a straight white male rage at me for it. Oi.

@macha Made my day. Or month. I frickin' framed it.

It's what the world needs more of, @il-volpe. Thank you for being that shining beacon.

I take heart that the newer generations seem to be so much better (in general) about acceptance and equality. My daughter recently started wearing skirts after a period where she hated them. She came out to show me her new skirt, twirling and so pleased, and I said, offhand, "Ooh girly flippy skirt, so cute." And she gives me a withering look and says "Clothing isn't gendered mom."

Totally right (god it's hard to admit to your teen when they're right) and I thanked her for pointing it out to me and resolved to be more mindful. A silly comment I never would have thought twice about, but for her pointing it out to me. It's needed and important. Glad you were recognized for your Pride.

@ganymede I legit posted a dumb, silly, what I thought was fun meme.

                Addams.jpg

Because yes, for years, I felt like Gender didn't matter to them. You love who you love. And I felt like Morticia gave out bi vibes. But she and Gomez are completely, totally 100 percent all in on each other.

I was told no no no. They have to be straight. We need them to be straight because there's no other relationships in mainstream media that don't have the man outright loving his wife. (Like.. say what?)

Another straight male "Like, it doesn't even make sense. Wouldn't "thriving bisexuals" be living out their full sexuality instead of hiding it? I don't get how this is supposed to track, or how appropriating the Adams Family for bi culture would do any good." Because somehow being in a loving, hetero and monogamous relationship means you're... not bi?

And neither of them could see any reason for why my POV might be valid, or see why I might need to see what I see.

Bisexual =/= promiscuous or not monogamous!

I love that I put a rainbow in my hair and now people are secretly questioning my sexuality. Why do I love this? Because it's how it should be. They don't know. It's none of their business and look, they can't tell just by looking.

Also, I am a huge human rights person. Regardless of identity. I believe people should have rights. I love that the people in my circle that use to be on the fence are coming over to my way of thinking that labels don't matter. It might not be the world, but I adore that I'm at least having an effect (affect?) on those around me

Also to anyone out there reading this. I don't care who you are attracted to (as long as they are adults capable of giving consent) or what you are into. I don't care how you define yourself. I don't care your religion, your sexuality (or lack there of - that is valid too), your preferences, etc. I want each of you to know -- I adore each of you. I appreciate that you exist. I appreciate that you take space. I'm more than happy to share mine with you.

The children of one of my mother's friends have caused the middle school to be evacuated. They brought a durian to school.

In Colorado, where the school admins had no idea what that stench was.

My grandmother, who once poured a box of powdered cayenne pepper into the forced-air heating system at her High School, would be proud.

I am considering carrying a durian around to improve social distancing compliance.

My kid graduated elementary school today (grade 7) and her artwork won the contest to be on the front of their yearbook. I'm proud and everything, but she's ecstatic beyond all belief and seeing her that happy and proud of herself is the RL thing I love the most.

That depends. Do you like bouncing at bars or running karaoke events?

@Ganymede I love running karaoke events. I used to help my dad dj and do such things. But when he decided it was too much work, he sold all the equipment, so..

I used to bounce at a bar. (Which always makes people give me a second look, because I am not all that imposing looking) But back then, I had all the strength, and all the practice with how to put someone into a ...position to be moved, shall we say, without breaking their arm, etc. (My brother practiced on me when he was in police academy, and then my stepmother needed to practice when she was going to be working as a... guard type in a juvenile facility. The kids where she was were the hard core cases. Murder and shit)

My house smells of ground beef with onion, garlic and ginger, and I think if they sold this smell in an air freshener I would keep it plugged in all the time.
