What "Good Thing" did you do (for yourself, or someone else), or have happen to you today?

Today I got up early enough to take a math test, and then actually set aside time to write a scene in one of my novels. I plan to walk at least half a mile at the end of the day when I go home.

The weather was nice enough to open the house up, which has been good for my bronchitis. Yay almost 80 degrees!

Fun? What is this fun thou speakest of?

Today and Sunday are the days I get to talk to my little three-year-old. Always good days. 😄

My youngest remembered to write down his assignments AND brought his homework home. MAJOR accomplishment. 😄

I cleaned my house, including vacuuming my stairs. It sounds stupid but the whole house smells CLEAN and LEMONY and WONDERFUL, and the stairs? The stairs don't have the pieces of whatever the puppy has shredded strewn everywhere anymore either.

I just feel that much better.

Yay for cooler weather! (I still remember being in Florida and 80 being pleasant. XD)

I'm going to buy [http://www.amazon.com/Monin-Lavender-Syrup-750ml/dp/B000T6AHW6](Monin Lavender syrup), for lavender lemonade and other various lavender things (hmmm, gluten free lavender cookies...).

It's a nice day when I can remember what my homework assignments are without rereferencing the assignment list, or the online course description. Totally know how that goes. XD

What kind of pie? My grandmother makes the best pecan pie. I need to teach her how to get gluten free crust.

About to finish my last project left over from the holiday season, so I can /finally/ relax at home. Didn't have to get up at 3am for work for the first time in well over a week. As a result I was not late for work, for a change. Managed to call my parents just to chitchat, finally. Gave a little girl a free cookie at work (edit: i work at a bakery), because she dropped her sucker on the ground and her mom wouldn't have it again so she was absolutely beside herself with grief (kids, man). Started as a "stfu" gesture, but she gave me a bearhug and it was incidentally one of the sweetest things ever.

I got some awesome recognition at work. I like doing billing stuff (I work CS, and we get billing overflow calls). In lieu of a cash applications position coming open, they put me on the 'primary Financial Services team' in our CS department, because they know I like it and I'm good at it.

It's nice to be recognized for things I'm good at (even the little stuff like this) by my bosses.

Also cheated and looked at possible rings for my partner and I (this July is the 14 year anniversary, I think it's sentimental mostly but I really want to do it, even if we can't legally get married here in Kentucky)..

I think you will be able to soon, and that's something I didn't think five years ago.

My partner and I went to Iowa in March to get married back in 2011 after 22 years together. Our rings are simple titanium bands; mine only comes off if I'm putting on hand salve. Don't knock sentimentality, especially when it combines love, a shared life, and asserting your rights.

Wow, that's awesome. Congrats on the marriage and the time together; that's awesome. We haven't really discussed marriage too terrible much, but our friends (who've been together for 25 years) got married when Indiana had their legal for it. So we'll see. It'd be awesome to legally be married in our home state.

I had class today (EFM - Education for the Ministry) - so I headed out at 1PM by bus down to Church, my partner in tow. We had a very nice lunch, Chinese food from the nearby Mall, I carefully re-read the assignment to be sure I wouldn't look like an idiot at class - My section is studying the history of Christianity, just reached 900-1200 and the rise of Russia as 'The Third Rome'. My mind was blown, I never knew that the Vikings had raided Russia too, and even settled there and started a successful trade route with the Byzantine empire. Read about the Tartars too, and Lithuania's Animistic leaders. (Who eventually became Catholic, mainly to stop Catholic Military Orders from raiding them constantly.)

Supper was fantastic: Ham steaks with a thick cherry glaze, scalloped potatoes and ice cream. Episcopalians understand the concept of food as fellowship pretty well.

Did the class, and was glad I'd gone over the reading again, because I got called on to discuss it. We did a theological reflection of the nature of Baptism, and that was enjoyable discussion. Finished as usual with Compline, and just as we were finished my SO burst in to tell me our bus was there to take us home.

Ahh, my week is over now. Friday I can do some tasks for my Ministry and then seriously just relax and RP and have a easy day.

                                    Life is good.

There is a snowstorm on my horizon. (Yes, yes, I know how much most people hate snow. I love it and I would like to be snowed in for a few days and that's not really something that has happened this year.) It won't be anything like hit part of the US recently, but I'll take what I can get!

And Monday I begin the first full time job I've had in 12 years. Full time librarian. At a library only a few blocks from my house. So I can give up the housekeeping work/combination of part time jobs I've done for other people for the last 10 years to make ends meet. It's a good thing.
