@Thenomain Nope, doesn't really help. Those two rules work better for tabletop where everyone can create as they go along. On a Mu requiring approval and with, potentially, dozens of players and hundreds of characters? That's totally not going to work. Nor are there chapters on a Mux and one Aspect isn't enough if they all don't really fit.
That being said, since we have so few people, we were allowed to RP prior to approval to get a better idea of the character. We can alter our sheets if need be (though I haven't done so yet). Work arounds don't fix the system though. And yes, it is not a pain unique to FATE.

Well, I would rule, then, that you can create an Aspect as you need it, as long as it's empty. (This is not my rule, really; it's Evil Hat's rule. This is in the optional chargen rules.) And I wouldn't police it. Why should I? They have to live with it, and if they can never use it again, then that's their minmaxing coming back to bite them. The ST gets to decide if it's appropriate, and here I presume it's the ST at the scene. Staff can, later, prod the player with, "This is way too general. Change it, please."
But yeah, I get why people don't get Aspects. Even explaining them to @Cobaltasaurus took four different people explaining them to her. And once you get them (yes, I know that you do), getting to the play-style where they click isn't always easy, and what you did, "I'll make the character then ignore the system," is what I'd do, too.

@Thenomain I did like that little mini-Dragon Age thing you did. Even if I had no clue what was going on.
@TNP, I'm pretty flexible. Honestly, if you feel like your aspects don't fit you can change them.

@Cobaltasaurus Oh, I know. Jakob just changed at least one of his so I know it's an option. Eventually, I'll rewrite probably all of his aspects once i get a better handle on him. And maybe his approaches. The stunts still work. I think. Mostly. Anyway, once he tells me what he wants, I'll get it fixed.

It only looks complicated, but I think I totally have the hang of it now.
Kinda reminds me of FS3 and I had a lot of fun with that.
I'll have you guys know that Cobaltasaurus only needed five minutes to explain everything to me, AND it only took me one night to CG my charbit.
She is a very nice charbit. Sadly, we have no tasteless descs section, or I'd submit her desc for you to look at. She's a Bona Fide Asian schoolgirl.
1.) She is not exotic.
2.) She is definitely not submissive.
3.) She is far from being an angry "Dragon Lady". She is violent, but it comes with the Vampire territory.Still, I think mietze is going to kill me in my sleep.

Why haven't you all apped on WC yet?
You don't need to like Anita Blake. You just need to like urban fantasy (such as WoD). You don't need to have read Anita Blake, just have an idea of what it's about (such as WoD). You don't have to like FAE. You just need to plow through CGEN then forget about it all other than the RP. And unlike some place who offer a helping of urban fantasy, we're mostly sane.
