Which canon property/setting would be good for a MU* ?
-
Kinnikuman the MUSH?
-
I forget if I mentioned it before, but the Iron Kingdoms is a neato setting. Might be hard to do, since it is a wargame setting and everyone hates everyone else, but you never know!
-
Iron Kingdoms does also have a couple of RPGs out for it too. Iron Kingdoms and Iron Kingdoms Unleashed. I played in an Unleashed campaign and it was INSANE. Insane in a good way though.
-
@zombiegenesis Full Metal Fantasy and Unleashed are both excellent. There is also the old D20 game that the wargame setting was based on, but D20 is tricksy.

@shaggy
My first question is would the ringwork be IC works or IC shoots? I could see it as being fun either way. -
The setting of the Dishonored games.
Alternatively, but less detailed, the setting of Thief, the Dark Project. But seriously, Dishonored has an amazing setting. The Outsider, the dystopian steampunk vibe. Wicked nobles, betrayals, a guild of thieves, creepy religious tones. So many ideas for characters, so much style, so much atmosphere.
And another idea would be Gene Wolfe's Urth of the New Sun setting. Far flung future, guilds (including, of course, the Torturer's Guild!) wild imaginative dark delight. A decaying world so far into the future it's difficult to comprehend-- well, might not lend itself as well to a structured game, but something inspired by it would be amazing.

NECROTHREAD
Adding Defiance to this list.
Because fuck yeaaaaaaaaah buddy.Defiance was awesome.
-
@ghost The Defiance MMO could have ben a lot better than it was, but damn it would make a good MU*.
-
I'd love a MUSH in the Turok universe (not the reboot). If you created an expansive universe for the Lost Land, with all the races playable, you could have a great game.
It would be unique, to say the least.

Hrm.
The Incredibles!!!!!

Donno if this has been suggested before, and it's practically already done in Arx, but:
Crusader Kings 2. Amirite?

I'm honestly not sure the plotting and shit could end up working out. I could see a lot of the politics of it becoming quite a clusterfuck.

Right? Wouldn't it be glorious? xD
We'd have so many horses as ministers.

You could always put an artificial timer on things too. Make it so people have to try and get their shit together by X month of X year before the hordes come murdering everyone.

Altered Carbon, as a major inspiration for Eclipse Phase, has re-ignited THE ITCH.
