It's a good idea to plug your username/e-mail into https://haveibeenpwned.com/ now and then to see if it was ever included in a breach.

Speaking of irony: It's kind of ironic to enter your password into a third-party website to see if it's been pwn'd.

You know, I noticed that after testing the site that you said 'username/email' and not 'username/password'.

I left it up to continue showcasing just how much attention I pay to you plebs.

...And I got super-burned the last time I changed things dramatically, so no more of that.

So I broke down and bought a gaming laptop.
            Operating system: Windows 10 Home
Processor: 8th Generation Intel Core i5-8300H Processor
            Display: 15.6-inch diagonal FHD IPS anti-glare micro-edge WLED-backlit (1920 x 1080)
            Memory: 8 GB DDR4-2666 SDRAM (1 x 8 GB)
Internal storage: 1 TB 7200 RPM SATA hard drive
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti (4 GB GDDR5 dedicated)

Going to load another stick of RAM in it at least. But I need some additional game suggestions, in addition to some of the ones I've got. Fighters, RPGs, platformers, strategy games... suggestions welcome.

              Is it a Sony VAIO?

                HP Pavilion.
I ran through a lot of benchmark videos on it, things that I'm going to be playing like FO3 and 4, Arkham, and such run in the 60FPS range, bunch of older stuff. I also wanted something with a little more rendering and processing power than my laptop I'm on now for some other programs like InDesign.

Yeah the HPs are surprisingly robust, its a good buy. I only asked if it was the VAIO because we discovered through work recently that they had heating issues within a week of receiving them, and had to send them back.

That's part of why I skipped the Asus ROG as well. This HP had good reviews, and the forum I found the deal on, a lot of people had bought them and gave a good rundown of it. I feel like it was worth the $480.

$479 plus tax, so like $502 after tax.
These are clearanced at Walmarts due to Walmart bringing in MSI brands and their own Overpowered internal brand.
I found the deal on a website slickdeals.net where I've also found deals on games, and the deal that got me my new unlocked Android phone for $100 instead of $250.
You'd have to search on the walmart app or the Brickseek website for your zip to see if any are in stock, but it was worth the expanding zip code search for me, since I was out of town Sunday and the Walmart near where I was had 2.

Holy shit, yeah, wow, that is an incredible deal for that. God damn, good for you.

You should be able to run pretty much anything with those stats at 60fps if that's your goal (though it might not always be at max settings), if you're looking for recent recommendations I have a few that flew under the radar:

Ni No Kuni II is a pretty quality action RPG with city building mechanics. It can get a little stale after 30+ hours, but 30+ hours of fun is usually enough for me to qualify it as worth it. It also has one of the most batshit insane openings in any game I've seen in a long time, in which the POTUS watches a nuke detonate in his city, gets transported into a fantasy world in a younger body, and then stumbles onto a coup by some Rat Dudes(TM) trying to overthrow the Cat King(TM), at which point the POTUS pulls out a Fucking Gun (!!!) and lays some of the rat dudes out. Very good.

Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice is Ninja Theory's attempt to make a AAA quality game with indie sensibilities, which basically means it's extremely pretty, extremely polished, but shorter with a price tag to match. The combat is good, the voice acting is excellent, and the puzzles are interesting. It's also a masterful examination of living with schizophrenia, so fair warning that there are some mental health triggers involved.

If you haven't played A Hat in Time, it's the best platformer of 2018, including Super Mario Odyssey. I can't recommend it enough.

If you do co-op stuff and like Left 4 Dead, especially if you're into Warhammer, check out Vermintide 2. It's much better if you can find a group to play it with, but it has some of the best first person melee combat in the industry, and the process of getting better is extremely, extremely satisfying.

I haven't played it myself, but I've only seen good things from the new CoD, too, if that's at all up your alley. The new Zombies maps are pretty rad, and the battle royale mode is apparently implemented p. well.

I'll add those to my research list; I've watched the first Ni no Kuni be played on a Playstation, and it looked cool. So thank you for the recommendations.

As far as the FPS, I'm going to be tweaking it. I have some depth perception issues with my eyes, so I'm going to be messing around, but most of the games my friend plays on his desktop he runs at a little higher than 60FPS and they're okay, but when you're getting really high it starts to give me eye strain, if that makes sense. Mid settings are totally fine; I like it to look pretty and have good graphics, but I don't need to see the pimples on the stableboy's face.

I'm not going to lie; I'm in love with The Banner Saga trilogy.

It doesn't require a high-end computer, but it's slick, sweet, and simple to enjoy.

The Banner Saga is incredible, artistically and from a gameplay perspective. Which reminds me that if you're into sRPGs in any capacity, the FTL devs put out Into the Breach (I believe it's in early access, presently), and I've only heard good things about it, though I haven't had the chance to try it out myself, yet.

Into the Breach is the devil. It is so fucking addictive and annoying, but so enjoyable.

I have been trying out the latest version of Starsector and having a lot of fun though I am still failing to find a single pristine nanoforge, I do have two alpha AI cores however and have put them to work administering colonies for me, surely nothing could possibly go wrong?

I mean yes I have to bribe inspectors not to notice that I am using AI to manage planets but they surely worry about this only because of the huge competitive advantages it gives!

I will steadfastly ignore the swarms of rogue AI warships and battle stations filling the periphery of the sector.

Any non-8 bit inspired RPGs or such games you guys can recommend for the Nintendo Switch?

I've a new one but for whatever reason games like Mario Odyssey just don't do it for me for long. Or I can happily play Kart in local mode but I'm not really into that kind of style of game overall.

Breath of Wild for Switch is (imo) a must. Not a full RPG but definitely enough elements to scratch the itch.
