@Roz Definitely one of my favourite games in recent memory - I'm only sad that it's not replayable. If I could wipe my memory of it and play it again I would.
-
Is WWZ closer to book or movie? Because I have some issues with movie logistics.

It was based on the movie.
I didn't enjoy the movie at all as a movie. In fact, I hated it.
HOWEVER.... as a video game I think the piles-upon-piles-upon-piles of zombies are fucking hilarious when you throw grenades into them.
-
Okay.
Has anyone played Valkyria Chronicles 4?
I played the original, and I enjoyed it. Not my favorite game in the world, but super-enjoyable.
Is the new game substantially similar?
Sidenote: that world makes for a really good grinder MUSH, hint hint.
-
@Ganymede VC4 is quite enjoyable. It's not amazing, but it's enjoyable.
-
Has anyone dabbled with Imperator Rome? I love Grand Strategy, I think Paradox does it well but was curious if there's any first hand reporting on it.
-
@BobGoblin
Its kind of like Crusader Kings meets Europa Universalis, with it leaning towards more of the latter. The gameplay is fairly solid and there are some new systems. Overall it's pretty fun for what I got to play of it. I was also told that it is actually what was created out of Paradox's Rome DLC for EU.And so as not to double post:
For anyone on the fence about Days Gone. My initial impression of the game was that it was The Walking Dead: Daryl Edition; but that impression does not hold after you get a couple of hours into the game. There is a good story hook that you hit and after that, it improves. I will add that while there is a lot of borrowing for gameplay elements from TLOU, I think the gunplay in Days Gone is actually better.
New Edit Just Cause:
Here's an interesting article about the removal of the choice system for Days Gone

Fucking SEKIRO, man. It's like a gloriously abusive relationship.
I will spend HOURS retrying to fight the same boss over and over and over. I die. I die. I die. I almost win. I die 10 more times. Almost win again. I die 10 more times.
AND THEN?
I climb onto the back of the horse mounted Samurai and ram my katana through his throat, throw him to the ground, and collect my XP and it's like...
DOANFACE, BITCH.So fucking rewarding, but 30% of the time it's OMGFUCKTHIS. WHY? Because it's challenging, doesn't promise you a win, and you need skills to play it.
I love games made by FROM SOFTWARE (Dark Souls, Bloodborne) for this, but at the same time they're some sadistic bastards.

I just got Homo Machina for the Switch (it's also an Android and iOS game) for $3. I haven't played it very long, just yet, but it's super awesome so far. It's based on this with the concept being that your body and all of its various systems are a 1920s era factory. It is clever and relaxing and I'm loving it!

Age of Wonders III free on HumbleBundle. (ends in 2 days)
-
So... Mordhau exists. It is a first or third person multiplayer PvP medieval war game like Chivalry.
Even as an old man with slow reflexes I have fun on it. Kicking a door into a guy, knocking him down with it, and then decapitating him with my two handed war axe feels great.
It is super duper customizeable down to each piece of equipment you carry. There are no hackers yet. If anyone is interested I would love to play sometime. Setting up a discord and dying horribly over voice chat sounds like fun times.

Like puns? Like parody?
Try this. Thank me later.

The EpicGames launcher has World of Goo for free right now. If you've never gotten to play the game, now's your chance.
(And if you want to play it and desperately need it not on Epic, I think I MIGHT have a key on Humble I can give out.)
-
Looking forward to Mineko's Night Market.
Animal Crossings + Harvest Moon, but with kitties.

It's a really fun and cute game with lots of hidden layers to explore and find. Plus you can decorate your ranch with colorful plorp!

Humble has Guacamelee for free. Lasts just a few days though.

Welp, Mordhau is already done. In that short amount of time, the game has been overrun with people spamming hateful, racist, nazi bullshit in the chat and votekicking anyone who complains. It's just... a real mess. Someone must have advertised the game on T_D or 4chan.
So to those of you considering getting it, I advise against it.

Beyond the usual online gamer toxicity, medieval stuff is like catnip for right-wing extremists.
