It looks great but there are my two takeaways:

Never trust an EA SW game without a gameplay review.
Respawn promised no microtransactions and no multiplayer shenanigans.

If the gameplay reviews look good and the promise holds. I may end up buying my first game from EA since 2009.

And I downloaded Battlefront 2 since it was free on Xbox Gold. Does anyone if it has online multiplayer? I will nostalgia the shit out of that.

I'm not @Jennkryst, but I found it impossible to play with a KB&M (I know someone who does and I don't get it). I can't afford the HOTAS I want, so I play with an XB1 controller. I find it works pretty well for me at least.

However, combat is still tricky since fewer buttons/toggles, but I use an AI to assist.

I have ASTRA and she's lovely. (They have AIs voiced by the likes of Shatner, Nimoy, Michael Dorn.....so so many, take your pick)

@Jaded I do use a HOTAS setup for Elite, and I feel like once you've done that there's no going back. It is a little harder if you're using a VR headset as well, because it can take time to be able to find specific switches without looking if you have a setup with many switches/buttons separate from the throttle or stick, but the flight feels so much more natural.

I found keyboard and mouse fine for Elite: Dangerous, right up until I attempted to use the galaxy map in VR to plot jumps.

Fuck that noise, it was impossible and nightmarish and awfully designed for no reason.

@Jaded At present, I use the keyboard/mouse out of necessity. I have an ooooold flight stick somewhere, from the Mechwarrior 3 years. It's pre-usb (though I have an adaptor (also somewhere)).

I plan on eventually doing the dual stick method instead of hotas, in part because about a third of the time I'm standing and that would muck up the pedal work.
