@Coin: I was thinking of that nasty couple who basically decided they hated me and spread all kinds of nasty about me on WORA back in the day. I genuinely wouldn't piss on either of them if they were on fire. I will quite readily admit between the verbal abuse and the fact that they posted a pic of me on the forum explicitly to make fun of, the fall-out sent me to therapy.
But yeah, Hack had serious problems. I put up with a lot from him, but his groping one of my characters without her consent and then him getting huffy and wounded puppy because I called him on it? I was so done.
Ah, Tim and Marley. Yeah. She went batshit with the pregnancy RP before the place imploded, if I was told correctly. I was gone by then.
-
I never understood either of them. They hated some of the things I did, they clearly didn't like me, and yet somehow when I left the game, they both took it as if I'd killed their dog. Like...why are you complaining about someone you didn't like anyway leaving the game? Basically, it was an excuse to be angry assholes and justify their status as alpha bullies in the MUSH community.
(Yeah, I may still have a lot of rage about this.)

Probably because they were losing a victim. Being a bully gets boring if you have no one to bully.
-
That place crashed and burned not long after the Moores left en masse. Not because we were particularly special or held up the MU in any discernable way, but we were the most active group in the game.
Putting Tim and Marley in charge was just the catalyst.
I remember I had a plot idea I pitched them in which I said, "I want to run [idea]". And they told me they'd think about it. And about a month later, they ran that same idea. No word to me, no nothing.
I was pretty pissed. Maybe more than I should have been at the time but I was also younger and even more of a hot-head. But that was around when I checked out of the game entirely. I had a big fight about it with someone I considered a friend. We're fine now and have been for years, but damn, that was annoying.
-
I remember a thousand years ago when you told me about that, it was the first time I'd heard of WORA. I was so offended on your behalf it was the first and last time I ever looked at that site and I stand by that.
People get pissy over games whatever, but personal public attacks on people in their real lives is beyond. I don't even have the right words to describe how beyond. It's one of the shittiest things I've ever observed on a forum community whatever, and I am appalled whenever I remember it.

I drove some games into the ground.
- KittyMUX and its successors BSSM/Neo-SilverMoon
- Ravenswood Academy and the followon Academy City MUX
I apologize to the people who put love and hard work into these, and to the people who were disappointed at the failure to do anything. As explanation, I had some anxiety issues and depression of various levels. That doesn't excuse strangling things that people loved.
I should have made something happen or stepped aside to let others do so
I've been a total dickbag.
It was often hilarious, deserved, or both, but it was still dickbaggery. To those who didn't deserve it, I'm sorry. To those who did deserve it, I'm also sorry: I should have been a better person, especially given my faith.I'm in a better place now, and for those I've burned one way or another, I merely ask you allow me to show you the difference the years have made.
Thank you.
-
I am pretty certain there would have been many, many elements involved in driving RA to the ground, the least of which would be you.
-
@Cupcake Well, to be fair I certainly can't take sole credit for it. The more I think about it, the more I realize why I drank so much back then.
-
I'm sorry for @toading some dude (Grundy?) on Shadowed Isles. I can't remember why I did it, why I hated the staffer that came after, or what was really going on. I was mad and petty and I'm super sorry for being petty. Also, yes, that means you were right on WORA, I, Epona, did that and was being petty. Thanks for everyone who said I was too nice for that on WORA, or the older one, back in the day. I really actually am. It was very unlike me and was bad and wrong.
-
I am sorry for trolling my friends whenever I have staff powers by setting their @aconnect to /quit.
I mean I'm not sorrysorry, I'm just sorry enough that you might think I won't do it again.
I will, though.
I totally will.

.Whatever, I couldn't remember the correct one this morning when I posted that. You knew what I mean, you pretentious bag of ambulatory tweed.
LISTEN HERE, I did not get much sleep and I can make a mistake so shut your cake hole and code me my damn +beats code.
[flips a desk]
Also a pillow. My kingdom for a pillow.
It's a small kingdom, but I will settle for a small pillow.

But in your kingdom, where would I buy a pillow? The workers seized the means of production.

You're annoying me because you face is stupid. Shut up.
Also, get me a pillow. I want to sleep. Fuck the world.
Also also, I never said you had to buy it, and even if I had, seizing the means of production doesn't actually mean you stop being able to buy pillows, it would just mean that the profits go to the workers instead of an exploitative capitalist / bougeoise owner of a pillow making factory.

Well whose money paid for the effort of building your precious pillows? Yours? Hah! I think not!
Here's your pillow, Hippie, now go back to sleep.
(My Apology: For being this amused at derailing a thread that has all the good intentions.)

@Thenomain I dunno....... I kinda liked it.
Apologies to anyone who did not, I guess. By proxy. Kinda. -
I'm sorry for almost getting a bunch of people assassinated due to having no idea what pisses Mages off.
-
@HelloProject In my experience it can be a long fucking list that's subject to change but might just have "your splat existing at all" on it.

Unless you are already part of that sphere, never deal with (WoD/CofD) Mages.
Ever.
For anything.
Don't kill them, you will be found.
Don't bind them, you will be found.
Don't befriend them, you will be found. If you find your character has gotten involved with Mages, smile politely and find reasons to be elsewhere. If you are questioned about why, feign ignorance.
I feel that (again WoD/CofD) Vampires can be a close second to this, but Mages take the cake, the whole cake, and demand that it's theirs and no one else's.
I don't know why this is. It's just how many players of these splats seem to be, and it just takes one to decide to make you their special project.
Sorry, I got off topic there, but nnnnngh.

Is this a totally mage-centric issue, or more an issue regarding the instant escalation of any conflict to murder-death-kill?
