Usually you can get an emergency referral from your pharmacy to another one that does have the medication in stock. You just gotta ask them.

Target has a 'Black Friday Preview Sale' going on that ends tomorrow (I dunno what time tomorrow??), buuuuut....
They have weighted blankets on sale, most of them in the $25-30 range.
ETA:
Also adding this. It's still way out of my price range, but may be in someone else's... -
I have drilled a third new hole in my belt this year.

I study stoicism. Partly because it fascinates me, partly because the writings of one of the modern stoics, Ryan Holiday, really helped me through a particularly hard time in my life (which is why I was so happy to attend a talk/signing and even be given a coin by him recently).
There's a recent interview on his site by Ada Palmer, a historian and stoic herself. Also, a woman who deals with chronic illness. And she uses her own practice of stoicism to deal with the pain and how she frames it really touched on a few important points for me today in where I'm at in my own studies. So I wanted to share it in case it helped anyone else: https://dailystoic.com/ada-palmer-interview/
She even uses a board gaming reference to explain how she's actively used reframing in her own life.

@Auspice Thanks for sharing that. I talk about these in my module long term conditions

Went in to the doctor's office on Friday to learn how to do subcutaneous injections. Nurse came in with the syringe and guided me through the process.
Went to go do it myself yesterday. Prescription says to do .07 mL. She did .7 mL. Call and leave message--.07 mL is crazy small anyway, so the label is probably wrong. But better to be sure, right?
GOOD FUCKING THING I CALLED. Nurse gave me literally ten times the estrogen dose I was supposed to receive. Thankfully estradiol valerate isn't really something you can OD on; people have regularly had ten times what she accidentally gave me with no ill effects.
Still... what the fuck? Avoiding this shit is why I've gone through the expensive route of getting a doctor instead of just DIYing it like so many trans people do.
Nurse told me that side effects might include "feeling emotional the next few days." Well that would explain why I was so depressed that I could barely get out of bed this weekend.

@Rinel
Ooof. I'm sorry.
Even so, I am glad you are seeing a doctor because this incident aside it is safer in the long run. -
Yeah, I mean... I'm not going the DIY route, but there is definitely a "you had one fucking job" going on right now.

Surgery checkin went... meh? Four of six posts are aces, better than expected.
The other two, not so much. Not a real shock since this is where they splintered the bone all over the place doing the extractions. They had to remove them to ideally see if the bone will heal over in order to redo them later.
If they don't, it's time for bone grafts.
Painkillers are warranted when people yank metal out of your skull and abrade bone. They are not happening.
On the upside, no painkiller frenzy.
On the downside, that shit exists for a reason, namely, serious fucking pain.
Ow.

this weather needs to make up its fucking mind so that I can breathe again.

So I wake up this morning to discover that my paycheck wasn't deposited as expected. Get on the phone with the bank, where the robot tells me the call volume is too high and immediately hangs up. What the fuck even. Give me my money or an explanation like.... now?

My pain in certain joints is getting worse, and now my hands are feeling it more. I had hoped it was just the change of season, but it seems that is not so.
So I'm told to go back on the steroids, which I went off of because I was starting to gain weight and it was fucking up my blood sugars.
I just can't do this anymore.
-
I'm sorry you're going through this.

I've been staying under 20g of carbs/day for the past 3 weeks, prepping for vacations & holiday dinners in the next couple of months. It's been going well, I've lost 17 lbs & that size 8 dress is on the horizon.
But I ate a burger on a bun made of actual white flour today, with Heinz ketchup, and it was so delicious I don't even feel bad for cheating. #YOLO.

Omg I think I am going to die. My face started itching yesterday. Bad. I survived. Today, my face, my hands, and the INSIDE OF ONE OF MY EARS. It pretty clearly seems to be an allergic reaction of some sort, but I haven't gotten into anything that I know of. ITCH.

I have to move by December 30th (lease is up).
I have no idea where I'm moving to.
My contract with my job ends on January 10th and while it looks very likely it will get extended OR that I'll even get a brand new 6th month contract for ANOTHER project (they already had me review the project and sit in on meetings and my boss said she's considering just keeping me for it vs hiring someone), I don't know anything for certain.aka after the new year everything about my life is just one big question mark.
While I am SURE everything will be JUST FINE (next week while work is a lighter workload of getting caught up vs trying to get caught up while more and more gets piled on my plate I plan to clean up my resume so I can job hunt just in case)...... right now I keep having complete panic attacks and I'm sleeping like shit and I just wanna crawl in a hole and never come out.

How conducive /receptive is your boss to being requested to give a goddamn concrete answer since you now have this housing hunt hanging over your head? Because maybe doesn't work for rental applications.
At least that would be something solid to work with, and know, rather than it just hanging there in the vapor.
Are you in an area where you can do short term corporate-type housing while securing a lease? It's not ideal, but I've stayed in Residence Inns that were nicer than the first apartment I had with my then-boyfriend after we had to leave the glorious three-bedroom flat in a two-flat that we were sharing with other people. At least they take pets, if that is a concern. Likewise the TownePlace brand.
Alternately, do you want to move altogether? Can you talk to your landlord about a month-to-month lease? Or an extension of some sort? Unless you already have, and it's a non-starter.
