Didn't seem like much of a whiner to me. Then again, my memory may have been broken by Fenris.

I don't much like Liam.. but Liam's personal/loyalty mission is pretty much my favourite.

I can't disagree with that.
I think the criticism of ME:A regarding the uneven writing and story is pretty accurate. Having not experienced many of the purported bugs on the console, I am of the opinion that EA addressed the problems, albeit in a post-hoc fashion. But to say that ME:A is the worst of the four is a stretch, and it is light years better than SW: Battlefront was. And I liked ME:A better than FF15, even though I really did enjoy much of the latter.
I'm getting a bit weary of this open-universe nonsense. We all see how well that worked with No Man's Sky.

I must be immune to bugs. Not that I don't get them, but I don't really care when they happen.
I must also be immune to bad writing, since I loved ME:A, knowing full well what everyone else thought of it. I really, truly, adore it. Much as I adore all the Dragon Ages, and all the other Mass Effects, and the like. They're all great......Am I just dense, or have I unlocked some secret to enjoying shit no matter what?

I feel exactly the same way.

Yeah I have been able to push through the bugs.
Have had like, 3 that stand out.
All three involve problems with clipping through the world for either me, or for enemies.
Other than the one time I was going through the main enemy bad guy ship and the event broke, so it wouldn't trigger, and I had to go all the way back to the beginning of the mission.
So 3 bugs that were more than a minor annoyance. That's not to bad.
As for Liam, I don't hate him, but, I find both the human npc teammates to be lackluster. The aliens were much cooler. Jaal and V are awesome.

I like Liam. I do not like that he is not a romance option for male Ryder.
I would kick Gil off the ship before Liam.

And as much as I like Drack, he's just Wrex with a different layer of paint. That's not BAD, just feels a bit phoned in.
The only good thing about Liam was his loyalty quest. Which was pretty funny.

I like Vetra. And Peebee's not so bad. Drack's got a great story.
And as much as I like Drack, he's just Wrex with a different layer of paint. That's not BAD, just feels a bit phoned in.
All Krogan have a pretty similar background, so they're all going to feel a little phoned in.

@Ganymede You have a point about the Krogan. I also liked how Drack felt more... personal than Wrex. I liked Wrex, but Drax's story with his grand daughter and all of that was really good I thought. Also interesting to see an /old/ Krogan to the point of falling apart. Not so indestructible anymore.

I concur. I also like the not-so-subtle attraction between Lexi and Drack.
I mean, it's not totally awful. While I hated what they did with Cora, I was drawn to Vetra. Not a big fan of Peebee (except, nice textures), but I could listen to Suvi all night long.

All the Krogan are more nuanced. Tho this kind of makes them seem a bit sissy for Krogan, it's so very nice to see a Warlord who is more than just combatty combat, and enough science that isn't "bombs or nothing" to make a society possible.

I liked this. A lot. I liked that the game showed how resourceful the Krogan actually are. I like how it kind of flipped the stereotype of the brutish louts. The Krogan are like the Klingon in their approach to leadership, but I like how they added the sort of depth that eventually made Worf a compelling character in the Star Trek universe.

Sissy? Maybe. They can still fight like crazy and kill most things but they're adapting to the genophage, and they're using their best traits to do so. They're still resilient and tough as all get out, but they're finally realizing they need to /think/ to. Which is a huge evolutional step but one forced on them. It's either die out, or think, and Krogan will survive /anything/ as a race.

I had no idea what yours was about other than "they can fight well". To be honest, though, I read your comment as being unnecessarily nit picky on the word "sissy" and probably doesn't matter.
