Why does MSB not have a MUSH/MUX to hang out on?
I have a more informative response to this: Because I can't keep up on conversations happening live on a non-archived system like a Mu*. I have a job that keeps me away from a computer, and it's far far far far easier to catch up in a forum format than the cramped, repetitive nature of a Mu*. I'd rather an IM system like Skype or Slack, which would be the best of both worlds, than a Mu*.
Clearly we need an auto logger that distributes to a wiki that is then parsed and formatted to a forum.
You know, for kids.
Time for an MSB discord.

A Japanese woman who I thought was my soul mate but is actually middle-aged and married with children wants me to get Discord for her Homie Bear Slices, so I might do that.

Homie Bear Slices?
Well, apparently only hours before I met her, she was trying to think of a name for fans of her stream. Someone suggested Homie G Slices, and someone explained that the G was for gangster.
She thought it sounded too violent and scary, so she decided against what I can assume was literally everyone's better judgment, that her fans are now called Homie Bear Slices, because she likes bears.

That is... not as terrifying as I feared, but still pretty terrifying.
The benefit of an archive system like forums is the topic bleed is vastly minimized. I don't think Discord is good enough.

I don't think the purpose of a chat hangout is necessarily to carry on extended discussion of forum stuff (though that would obviously happen), and more just chilling out when not having extended discussion of forum stuff.
I also think it has the potential to allow people to interact with each other in a way that adds a more real-time human element, perhaps enhancing forum interaction by having people more casually interact in a way that isn't a carefully considered forum post.

Exactly! I can post halfway buzzed from a bar and not notice autocorrect yelling at me, and still make a point.
Just here to say I look forward to complaining on MSB about how horrible MSB MU* and all the people on it are.

If you want to chat with people -- there is this cool message feature?
I'm only kinda tangentially around at the moment while tapering off stuff, but I gotta admit, I would have been down with something voice-side and open to all simply because I'm one of those people that writes like I talk... but until somebody hears me talk and can spot what's tongue-in-cheek and what's serious a little better, which is much easier to do when I'm speaking, I'm really fucking easy to misread. I try to be cognizant of that, but it's not always successful.
Oh fucking well.
I type exactly like I talk. Utterly deadpan in my humor. I don't even know when I am being serious anymore.
