Wheel of Time MU(SH|X)

@WildBaboons If it's not for people clueless about WoT? My comments are less relevant. I still think having your key elements on your site is a good idea, but where you draw the line between key and non-key? Enh. I would say "Cairhien" is a key element, but "Cairhien fashion" isn't. YMMV.
As someone interested in playing a WoT game, who is familiar with the theme, I'd still be willing to invest more in a game if I saw the game-runner invested in it, too. If that makes sense. Like, if I show up and see the person spent real energy building this game, I'll know it's less likely to be a flash-in-the-pan, and I'll give you my real energy in return.

Important to note: I have absolutely no knowledge of WoT, never read the books, and am probably not the audience for your game (alas, I was kind of excited).
That being said, I do believe that any game built off an exisiting IP should stand on its own. Right now, I see there are links to other games out there, outside wiki pages, etc. I understand the world is huge - but your game is not the entire world, is it? Add wiki pages that are important to your theme. Tell us the story of your game. So the answer to "where to draw the line" would be: draw the line to where it is important to your game!

I think we are actually roughly on the same page here.
For example, Cairhien will absolutely have a wiki page. They are a playable faction and a lot of the plot starts there.
The entry would be setting the current situation, big name NPCs, plot hooks, etc. Game relevant information.
Culture, history, fashion, general knowledge? Link to existing well written, researched and indexed sources that have all there is to know.

A lot of it, actually or at least representatives of a lot of its people

Query: how hard will it be to play an Aes Sedai? I know some games in the past made the barrier to entry about as bad as Star Wars games and Jedi (aka long app processes that often resulted in just staff alts and staff friends).
I miss my Gray from back in the day and would love to play one again.
-
@Auspice I think being unable to tell lies and never asking direct questions would be fun and challenging to write, especially with a varied audience.
-
With the caveat that @WildBaboons is the ultimate owner and decider of such things, from conversations I've had with him, I don't think Aes Sedai are going to be locked behind any kind of barrier to entry, other than perhaps knowing enough about Aes Sedai to play one.
There will be balances to be made across 'how much do I want strength with the five elements of the Source' vs 'how much do I want to have other abilities and advantages', but that in and of itself is a decision for the player to make.

As a side note given that this is being set during the Aiel War and the times of the Grand Alliance, there will be plenty for a Grey sister to do.

If people want to come in as Novice/Accepted they are welcome to but the storyline itself is only going to last a year or two so would not be enough time to be Raised from start to finish

I did the whole story starting at Novice... only for the game to close shortly after she finally finished. XD
I wanna start as an Aes Sedai, so this is good news. Totally gonna play a Gray again.

First actual PC made it through chargen and the game didn't explode or catch fire.
It's the little victories. Progresssss
-
@WildBaboons That PC is going to be a real jerk to any trainees that make it through CG. I know this from reading his desc.
-
We are still very much pre-alpha but there was a scene!
And the scene system worked!
Something else broke. But you know.. the scene system worked!

Among our features: Spears
Just for @deathbird

@WildBaboons Dude, you should REALLY remove the assets lifted straight from another game before you start advertising this. Make it your priority.
-
@Kanye-Qwest yeah, that's why it isn't advertised. They're in process
