Ovechkin averages well over a point per game in the regular season (1,035 pts., 921 GMs). He has won countless awards. In the playoffs, his stats are different, but are still damned good (90 pts., 97 GMs). Backstrom is in the same general boat: about a point per game in the regular season, but only a slight drop in the playoffs.

Last season, Braden Holtby couldn't save them. The year before, yes, the scoring was suspect. But in previous years, the defense was permitting too many shots (over 400 in 2 series is awful).

Frankly, the Capitals simply aren't good enough. That's it. Crosby and Malkin look like the saviors, but it's really about Murray, Sheary, Rust, and all of the other lesser-known players that made the Penguins champs again (I mean, do you know Nick Bonino is?). Who does anyone know on the Capitals beyond Ovechkin and Backstrom? (addition mine: this was posted in 2017)

That is crazy. When we lived in Phoenix and went to see the Aves play the Coyotes there were always more Aves fans in the audience.

Here's how that works. The following sentence applies to pretty much every Coyotes game.

"I went to a Coyotes game. They were playing the <other team> and most of the crowd was wearing <other team> sweaters."

I'm a Coyotes fan that wants to see the Yotes leave AZ. They deserve better. I think those hardcore Coyotes fans in Glendale who fight to get extra taxes to keep the Yotes from leaving are out of their goddamned minds.

I agree. I don't know who is getting the kickbacks, but that nonsense is terrible for Glendale.

I am actually fine if they stay in Arizona, but damn, they need an arena that isn't so far from ANYTHING. We would have gone to more games living down there if only we didn't have to drive to stupid-away southern Glendale. (We lived in downtown and then North Mountain areas.)

It's not crazy. Sure. Fiddler was only on the Yotes a few seasons, but I loved the guy. Tough as nails, great at faceoffs, wasn't shy about getting physical. After watching him play I followed his career. I dont know if he wanted to leave the Yotes or if they didnt meet his asking price or what, but I feel he was a great addition to the team.

Besides. Everyone fucking loves Doan and OEL is the only other player that they had that you couldn't expect to disappear after a season or two, anyway

Rumor has it the new Seattle NHL expansion team may end up being the SEATTLE KRAKEN.

If this is true their sweater revenue is gonna be through the roof. This is a fucking rad idea.
