The Blue Jackets are named for the blue coats that were manufactured in Ohio for union soldiers. They are meant to pay homage to Ohio's military contributions, although some think they were named after Charles Blue Jacket, a Shawnee war chief and predecessor to Tecumseh (who also lived sort of close to where I live now). I don't understand why they picked a blue version of the Charlotte Hornet, but the fun part of home games is when they fire off a big-ass cannon after every home-team goal.
Ohio isn't known for great sports team names, okay? Some are appropriate, though, like the team we named after the color of shit.

Those guys seriously need to get a name like "SHARK PUNCHERS" or something better like "UNION RIFLES".

We make fun of Michigan, but they have cool team names like the Wolverines and the Spartans. What do we have? Tree Testicles.

That's insane. He's scored 70, 92, and 82 points the past 3 years. He's on pace for around 50.
That's a huge drop, even for a player getting into his mid-30s.
