      "We're running late."
"Well, that's fine, so long as you can still give me a ride to work."
"We can't, we have to meet people in Plano."

"Fine, get out, and don't come back."

You missed a perfect opportunity, Auspice. SRSLY. They wouldn't even blink, would instantly know WHY, all delivered with a very concise and apropos statement void of feeling or angst. Which, I hear, is the best way to have those quaint conversations with humans.

But then I'd have had their shit in my apartment.

I really just wanted that stuff gone. And the free lunch.

I thought that the regular Way To Do Things was to throw their shit out the windows, onto the lawn. That's what TV has taught me. Apparently, people garner praise for such acts.

So, I got a B in Criminal Law.

Normally, I.would accept this, because you know, it's law, and it's hard.

I am less accepting of this, however, because most of the points I was docked came from briefs, and doing them in a way the professor didn't like.

Which I could have corrected had she not waited until after fucking midterms to grade them.

Also: Don't make 20 out of 75 points on a quiz, "Make a list of what sorts of things you need to know when someone comes to you saying a crime has been committed" and give no direction whatsoever on the rubric you're using to grade this question.

Racism isn't Tinkerbell. It doesn't need you to believe in it for it to exist.

I work 18 miles from my house. I left my office 39 minutes ago. Estimated remaining drive time?

Orrrr... craigslist what they won't take, and use the money to take yourself out for a meal. It's the same as them giving you money for the meal, but with 100% less abuse.

(Alternately, tell them that's the plan and watch how fast they get their asses over there)

That is def. a plan. I'll have to keep that in mind for future similar situations.

@saosmash I moved to Michigan from Florida. I haven't lived in a region with snow for more than a decade. And apparently my half-remembered skills learned while a teenager are still superior to people who have ostensibly lived in the state for more than three months.

@saosmash This implies that some level of 'learning' takes place. Given my commute on Tuesday in about half an inch of snow I am fairly certain that nobody does any such thing.

This train derailment. I live pretty close.

I am so irritated by all of the check ins and drama from people who don't ride the train, live nowhere near the incident, and are drama llama-ing all over the place 'oh, I am so lucky!' and blah blah blah. There are TWO BUTTONS in the crisis system Facebook uses, one saying that you're safe, and the other saying IT DOES NOT APPLY TO YOU. Like, dude, the last time you rode the train was 15 years ago. Nobody was worried. Just ugh, locals are being so freaking weird about this whole thing, and the news reports on it are wildly inaccurate (anybody heard the 30mph vs 80mph thing, yet? Yeah, the 30mph thing is for freight along that stretch of tracks), and there was not CONCRETE poured on the tracks by Antifa.

Ugh. Ugh ugh. There are hurt people, and 3 people are dead, and yet it is like Christmas for some of these drama llamas who are playing this whole thing up SO HARD.

I kind of hate that Facebook check-in thing. When it's been used for massive events like the landslides or hurricanes, when phone lines have been down? Yes, that's good. Those are times when loved ones have been actually well and truly incapable of checking in on the people who matter to them.

But ever since, people have been using it to 'check in' on events that don't matter. Shit, I've seen people 'check in' as safe for disasters in countries they don't even live in.

                                  Llamas gonna drama, yo.

@auspice Yes. Yes yes. If it's warranted, if there's some big scale something, if it's something that applies, if phone lines are down, whatever. When the mountain finally blows up? Yeah! Check in, everybody!

...train, derailment by Nisqually? Man, my friend who is annoying me, you don't ride the train or even go that far north except for once a year. Your family lives SOUTH of you. STAHP IT.

Yeah, speaking of this... Been seeing my ex-husband suddenly cropping up on a friend's Facebook (they met because he ended up roommates' with a high school friend of hers 😐 ). And all his 'supportive' talk when she mentions her recovery from abuse, etc.... it makes me rage inside. So hard. Because I know the abuse she's speaking of. And it's similar to the exact bullshit he pulled on me (that he's now pretending was 'so terrible' that she went through and he's really just seeing as a 'oh so she's susceptible to it').

And I know she's his type.

Like would it be dramatic of me if I go to her and am like 'btw he is gross and shitty and this is all part of his game and I don't want to see you hurt and please for the love of god stay away from him'? Because I know in the World O Relationships I probably just come across as 'the crazy ex' but she is my friend and I do not want to see her suffer goddamnit.
