Oh, if you're chronically hyperkalemic, a few bananas a week won't cut it. Start gnawing on potatoes and guac.

I should probably just start taking a potassium supplement. Every ER visit, surgery, hospital stay....has involved them fussing over how low my potassium is.

Might want to have a doctor look at your thyroid.

I'm already on thyroid meds. Have been since I was 18. πŸ˜•

Have them check those levels again, or get someone else to. My partner trusted her endocrinologist a little too much, and a short stomach virus put her in the hospital for four days.

I have found that drinking pickle juice helps when I'm depleted and having a lot of calf cramps. It doesn't happen too often these days. And I really think it's gross except during that time, in which case I crave it like whoa and I can chug it like lemonade. However, there ARE potassium supplements!

Cravings are so weird like that.

I go through cycles of absolutely craving peanut butter. I think it's a low-iron thing since I haven't been able to afford meat in a while (and I do eat iron-rich veggies, but... gotta balance how I eat 'em since iron + thyroid med = possible conflict). I'll have evenings where I just snack on a few spoonfuls of it.

The only thing that ever worked for me when I had growing pains as a kid was Vitamin E gelcaps. An inexpensive option that has many other uses if it doesn't help with the cramps.

                    New X-Men character announced.

                    She "Rasputin" has:

                    • Colossus' skin
                    • Magik's sword
                    • Shadowcat's phasing
                    • Unus the Untouchable's force field
                    • Quentin Quire's telepathy

I dont know what her first name is, but if it isn't yet defined, I have a few suggestions...

"Mary Sue MU-OC a.k.a. a concept made by the one major problem player in Ghost's RL TT group" Rasputin. (1)

                    "Mary Sue Everything Bagel" Rasputin.

                    "Hope 2.0 But Isn't a Summers, is a..." Rasputin.

                    (1) True fact. I once had a player who wanted to make the son of Magick and Nightcralwer. When their Mutants and Masterminds sheet was done they presented me with a teleporting, kinetic energy-throwing, soul-sword wielding Lord of Limbo who, by proxy of being Lord of Limbo, was immortal.

@Ghost You know, I'd be cool with two of these. Colossus' skin and Magik's sword? OK, make her a sister of the two and she inherited the sword from Magik.

                      Hell, I'd also take 3:
Daughter of Colossus and Shadowcat, inherited auntie Magik's blade.

But the last two (force field & telepathy) bring it into the realm of 'how many people are gonna scramble to play her on comic games just to have that power set'

                        Hrm. πŸ˜•

My company doesn't understand a few basic concepts.

One year we had an egg-tossing competition during a food drive for needy people. The parking lot was covered in broken eggs. Each was a potential meal for a hungry person.

Soon? A water drive. When it's 115 outside water is important and plenty of people die each year from lack of water or shaded places to hide.

So after a "food tossing game to drive in food for hungry people", I'm sure you can guess what kind of event we are having for a "water drive"...

                        ...ice bucket challenge.

I swear to fuckin god one year we're going to have a cupcale eating contest to raise money for diabetes research.

Companies are sort of terrible, in general, at 'what's gonna be fun for our employees and show awareness?!'

Company I used to work for tried to get people to go, on their day off, to pick up trash in a park. That was their big team building / bonding thing that month. They went the opposite direction of your company.

it's like........ why not allow them an hour off during the workday to go? Or make it a family picnic also? C'moooon.

@Auspice Yeah, I 100% do not partake in company charity events, save for the occasional "company talent show" where ticket sales go to charity or "popcorn and watch movie at work".

I view it as a conflict of interest to assist them in lowering their tax rate, especially in ways where they get the donation for my time put into charitable causes.

Oh, sorry, I got something wrong.

It's not an "ice bucket challenge" while driving to raise bottled water for homeless people.

It's an "Ice Bucket Challenge" AAAAAAND a water balloon fight.

But yes, companies that have special 'PTO' for volunteer work? That's how it should be done.
