@Derp Which will clearly have to be my first work email of the morning. Because it's not okay to just ignore a medical accommodation like that. It's not.
I also woke up today and realized I have surgery this week. Too early to get nervous (It's on Friday), but I know it will be on my mind A LOT. (Minor outpatient surgery to fix a problem with my eye, but not Lasik or anything of that nature. But it will fix something that's been bothering me, so yay!) So I have Friday off, because surgery. and I will have to do something I have never yet done... call an Uber. Because I can't drive home, and my roommate will come get me, but can't leave my car there lol

I just need to scream into the void for a hot minute. In February I was hospitalized for a week. I am still reeling from that financial responsibility but because I needed to be hospitalized longer I went into an intensive program which has kept me put of work since February, we've already done one rent extension and I've run out of pmla.. we had already had to prioritize food over rent and rent over bills..
I still have 2 weeks of treatment. In those two weeks I'll not have any pfmla and no pay. The kicker, because I make a reasonable living [Which is still not nearly enough to start savings in the PNW] I am also not able to access most rental assistance programs.
I needed this time to recover. I needed the rest. But it's too costly amd now I need to look at canceling my remaining specialist appointments..

What exactly is the medical accommodation you are seeking? Their response time could be contingent on that.

Any chance that you have short-term disability that may kick in? Some employers have that coverage to make sure your absence doesn't hurt it financially, but the policy may extend to cover a portion of your lost income briefly.

@Ganymede to set my schedule to at least 2 hour intervals for breaks and lunch. And considering that they make adjustments every morning...

No problem. I'm guessing based on your comments that you live in Washington, and so you get 12 weeks of PFML. Since that's a state benefit, you also may have FMLA leave, which is another 12 weeks. So, I'm guessing you've taken 24 weeks off, which would put you around the 6-month mark for leave.
STD benefits usually last for up to 6 months. After that, you may qualify for LTD. If you have a life insurance policy, a lot of such insurers offer STD and LTD benefits for you and, if you're an employer, the business.

I wanted to remind people that Hospice care is paid for by the government in the United States , and is free to all.
You do not need to have an immediately terminal illness to qualify, you just need to have a conndition that will end life. Hospice will help with other health issues as long as that one issue is not being treated to be cured. They offer training and grief counseling, and often can arrange for things like recognition of military service, innteractions with a church or community, etc. They have translation services for many languages.
People in other countries probably have similar services.
Many modern cultures do not teach us how to deal with dying, and Hospice can help people through the process. If its available and you have need, reach out for it.

Well, after I had some messed up sugars today.. I went to Linda's office to follow up on my email (I was going to send another email yesterday, but my immediate supervisor said she would talk to Linda).
But I won't be needing schedule adjustments anymore!
And not because they did them. -

me: I can't what? Expect them to do the BARE minimum of what the law demands? Expect to be allowed to treat sugar crashes or be able to take insulin before I eat?
