@silverfox Thank you for sharing this very important mews.

Yes. But I realized I was responding to your question if I wanted to talk about them from the Peeves thread and decided to move it to critters.

@silverfox Aw, what adorable little assholes! I'm so glad you told us about them. And shared photos.
-
I hereby report that the Itty Bitty Kitty Council requires you to continue to care for the buggers so that we can see more pictures.

The little assholes caused panic this morning. They managed to open the drawer right behind the door and it prevented us from opening the door more than a crack.
I'm usually pretty calm but the idea of kittens trapped without food or fresh water had me shrieking for my husband. We got the door open by sticking a spoon in the crack and inching the drawer closed, not helped by asshole Jack sitting in said drawer and preventing it from being closed all the way. >.>

My sweet old man has started having worse and worse arthritis because of his age, so we increased his dose of pain meds.
The trouble is the pain meds upset his stomach, which is already fairly sensitive. So right now he's having his dog food withheld and is on a diet of rice cooked up in chicken broth until his tummy feels a little better.
The thing is, special dog rice is apparently boring and yucka, so he's only eating about half of it and then refusing the rest. (No, this is not because his tummy hurts, I assure you. He's eating his medicine wrapped up in cheese slices and flavored dog vitamins just fine, the little asshole.)
He's basically just being a drama queen, throwing a tantrum because dinner isn't what he wanted. Clearly, he is neglected and abused. His people beat him, and make him sleep in piles of snow, and he has never even smelled food in his entire life. We're obviously monsters, based on our desire for him to neither be in pain nor pooping all over himself.

@aria Yeah, some animals are like that. I don't know why, but feed them the same thing long enough, and they start to want only that instead of some variety.
-
This is the very last kitten photo. We had to take them back to the shelter so they can be put up for adoption.
So so so many tears.

They'll always remember and love you for being a good mama to them.
-
... you hid them in the car, didn’t you?
-
I wish. No. I went and returned them. Opened the crate in the kitten room and sat next to it and even batted a bully away so Mimi would come out. Kept my shit together till I was back in the car then cried.
-
I have no words that will sufficiently comfort you regarding your choice.
Kittens are kittens.

I completely feel you. Both of my cat jerkfaces are foster failures. I'm so sorry about the heartbreak.

So. 7 new babies. Saved from a cat hoarding situation. All different sizes. I think there are three different litters here. 3 are tiny (less than 1 pound) two are just over a pound, and two more over a pound and a half.
-
@silverfox That's amazing, great job! Are they all eating?
-
They are! I put out two cans which looks like it might have been too much for their bellies. So I'll cut down to one and a half tomorrow morning.

So anyone that knows me knows that I have far too many pairs of sneakers. There was recently a restock of the Jordan 5 'Toro Bravo' colorway that I just so happened to walk in at FinishLine recently. I usually take pictures of my new shoes for the 'gram by using the cat tree.
Hence, new shoes, but a Bubba for scale. He's such a majestic bastard.
