Utrum fiat tibi gaudium aut dolor, iterum talos iace.
Whether you get joy or pain, roll the bones again.

Game of Bones is based on George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series of novels and the Game of Thrones television program. Game of Bones is running on PennMUSH and uses the FS3 stat and dice system.

The game is set over a hundred and seventy years before the books and series begin. This is about nine years before the civil war known as 'The Dance of the Dragons', during the time of the reign of King Viserys Targaryen I. Dragons and the magic they bring to the world are still very much alive.

We attempt to follow the themes and settings of the books more than those of the HBO series. However, you don't need to have read them. A passing familiarity with the show should be enough to allow you to play. Great allowance is given to a wide range of character concepts from urchin to prince (With the exception of Dragonlords). Players are very much a part of activity in plot conception, development, and execution. We encourage and support player-run plots large and small. If you love to GM but don't want to deal with the details of MUSH administration and staffly duties, we may be just the place for you. If you're just looking to play somewhere where there's a variety of stuff going on, plenty of ways to get involved, and a player-base who are willing and eager to include newcomers, we're a good bet.

Join us and our story to make a character and stake out your own position in the history of Westeros.

This is an R-rated game. To play, you must be an adult according to the laws of the country from which you are connecting.

Game of Bones is always super delighted to have players who want to run plots. If you like to GM, we want you.

Do you like to GM but hate the admin duties of staffing? Hey, you're free of those. Got a problem player? Pass the buck, he's my problem. People bitching that you're running plots for group Z, but not for them? Tell 'em to bitch at me, 'cause it's not your problem, it's my problem. Don't like the pressure to come up with plot after plot when you're RP staff? Fuck it, take a break, run plots when you feel like it. The goal is to let you have all the fun of storytelling without the sucky shit that comes with staffing a MUSH, and while I may suck at this, I do listen and adapt and do my bit to make that sweet spot a reality for you.

So WTF, did people just stop watching the series this season?

I suspect that a lot of people who were still watching have decided not to watch anymore after the latest episode. Talk about unnecessary, gratuitous bullshit.

@Coin The end of the last episode, specifically? Yeah, was a little unnecessary.

They could have done so many other things; even making it less graphic or lingering less would have been better; but the fact that they went there at all was unncessary. It established nothing we didn't already know.

When I realized DUMB HO wasn't going to make that the moment she decided to step the fuck up and do something for once, I was completely and utterly disappointed.

Step the fuck up and...do what exactly? Nothing she did in that moment could do anything but make it worse for her.

Unnecessary? Yes, absolutely. There were many things they could have done to avoid it if they wanted to, but clearly they didn't.

Gratuitous? No, not really. It serves a narrative purpose, presumably...we just have yet to see what it will be. And it was done about as tastefully/non-graphically as such a scene can be. Gratuitous would have been the camera lingering on the act and not the reaction to the act.

Yes I killed that Cleric, and I hope she burns in all 9 Hells!

I disagree. None of what it established hasn't already been established. And no, they didn't do it as tastfully/non-graphically as such a scene can be, are you kidding me?

I don't really want to get into spoilers, but nnnnnoooooopppppeeeee.

I have no idea why people are complaining about that scene, considering everything else that has happened in that entire show. "More of this delicious baby sandwich please -- WAIT, YOU LEFT IN THE EYES? THAT WAS UNNECESSARY AND AWFUL, I WILL NEVER EAT BABY SANDWICHES FROM HERE AGAIN."

Also checking out the game. 😄 Sounds interesting.

The game is certainly not beholden to or responsible for the latest atrocities on the show, in any case.

The entirety of Game of Thrones that I have seen was some large guy melting gold then pouring it on some snotty young kid's head and we got to watch the kid writhe around in extreme agony until dead.

And so I am imagining that whatever y'all are talking about now is basically gore porn, a la Saw.

Considering virtually none of it is seen on-screen, yeah, it really was. If you're expecting a complete cut-away and just leaving it "implied" then you may not be watching the show you think you are.

I am watching the show I think I am; I simply stating that despite that, I expected more class. What I expect and what I get is clearly different; that doesn't mean the show gets a pass.

Yep. In the past, though, GoB has seen a wee flood of growth with the new season of the show. Not this year.

                                      Haha! @JaySherman . You rock.

The last episode wasn't dumb because rape is so much worse or more shocking than other things- including other rapes- on the show.

The last episode was dumb because Sansa's character arc being nothing but getting horrifically abused in each of the seven kingdoms is dumb, it undid any empowerment she gained from her story last season, and focusing on Theon instead of Sansa indicates that it's his redemption arc they want us to care about and they're just using Sansa being raped as a tool in a male character's development all of which is super ugh.

I'm still going to watch the next episode but it's dumb writing.
