I come here with talk of Rogue One, and how my two favorite parts of the film have nothing to do with plot, and have everything to do with 1) Data Storage, and 2) Hyperspace/Light Speed mechanics.

        But. I also add....

I'm not sure why the Clown Prince of Chaos can so easily elude Batman, but got himself shot down, save by underestimating how much of a bitch Waller could be.

Because if the Joker were a character in a MU, he has spent all of the XP in 'The Goddamned Batman' specialties. Academics 2/BATMAN 99. Because of weird houserules, cross-skill/synergy bonuses, and whatever else.

          Saw Rogue One tonight.
I have never wanted to cry and scream in exultation at the same time SO HARD as I did with this movie. It was super excellent, and a worthy entry.

Plus as a SW nerd, all the little things you see/hear referenced from other canon (and some EU, so... hints to future canon?) in there was awesome.

Easily one of my favorite movies now. It was done so well, too. Totally impressed all around.

I saw it on Thursday night, walked out emotionally compromised, and waffle between wanting to see it again and not being sure I can emotionally handle it.

Honestly? I haven't been this wrecked since Wash took it in the chest. Ironic, considering.

Except he really hasn't, given how easily he can manipulate just about everyone else in the DC Universe.

That said, about Rogue One: I haven't seen it, but if K-2S0 says "It's Wesselton!" I may lose my shit.

K2 stole the show, I'll say that.

Picked up Kubo and the Two Strings on DVD.

It's SO pretty. And so good.

I'd watch Kubo but I'm still boycotting it unfortunately. Sometimes you just have to miss out on things I guess.

Am curious as to why you're boycotting this movie.

                              The non-Asian cast, I'm guessing?

Yeah. It's not a big deal I know but personally I'm not a fan of Hollywood doing that. It reminds me of blackface and Charlie Chan. Hey, capitalism! We are all free to watch or not watch.

More than fair enough. It is nothing you'll be judged for by me. 🙂

Not judging either -- though I will say I have seen this taken to extremes that sometimes make me a little sad. (Not saying you or anyone here do/does in any way, @Admiral, this just reminded me of a case of it that had me head-scratching some.)

I remember seeing people scream about The Forest, the premise of which actually was dumb American with no goddamn clue goes into a part of Japan that people who have no goddamn clue should seriously not fucking go or they will end horribly, which sorta falls apart if it's not how it was cast, or it would at least be a totally different movie/story. It's... the premise, since a Japanese person would know the lore/not be that dumbass. If somebody wanted to make that totally different story with an all Japanese cast, I would be all over watching it, too, it would just be a very different story, and I'd want to see that made with an all Japanese cast, too.

                                    Oh fucking well.

Also picked up Suicide Squad. Watched today. Was better than expected. El Diablo a best. Depth to Killer Croc was unexpected and welcome.

A friend streamed Suicide Squad via Rabbit and I have to say, it was a lot more enjoyable than I imagined. And, on top of the movie being more than I expected, Jared Leto was a most-awesome Joker. Not sure why he's getting so much hate for his acting. Is he an awesome Joker? No, not really, but he was a very good Joker just the same.

I didn't care for suicide squad really. I liked it in theory and I think a sequel might be fantastic. Just there wasn't enough development for me and killer croc looked 5 and a half feet tall instead of massive.

I can get why on some of it; they were expecting something a certain way and didn't. I think on this, which is the Extended Edition, we have some more Joker-based footage to make it look less of an issue. Harley was alright; it's still no BtAS Harley, which is best Harley, but Margot Robbie did a pretty good job.

(I went on a movie buying binge 'cause I had gotten coupons from Best Buy, Target had a sale, and I had some gift cards). Got Spirited Away, Suicide Squad, Kubo, ST Beyond (I LOVE THE BEATS AND SHOUTING), The Magnificent Seven, and Dracula Untold.
