Yesterday I paid the bill from my ADHD assessment. The one I didn't get, because I wrote the date down wrong on the calendar and failed to attend. I played phone tag with the office for awhile and then faded slowly into non-existence out of shame, guilt and probably depression. Forced myself to call and leave another message yesterday, but they haven't called me back. So I'm $500 out of pocket & still no closer to getting treatment. They're not open on Fridays too so I can't call them again today. I started this process in December. I'm tired and sad.

That sucks And in general it sucks that treatment policies aren't more accommodating given that they know this is just a part of the very disorder they're treating. And in general it sucks that treatment policies aren't more accommodating given that they know this is just a part of the very disorder they're treating. But $500 for a no-show seems shady to me. Yes they're entitled to a cancellation fee but that seems ridiculous. IANAL but I wouldn't think they can bill the full amount for an assessment that never happened. Probably worth following up on your rights there.

Today, I woke up, and washed down a caffeine pill with some Diet Dr Pepper. And about a half hour later, drank a Monster ultra sunrise. Holy shit. I got all my work for the DAY done, plus some new work I begged out of my boss, in less than 3 hours. I never want to hear his ass complain about my time management again.

@faraday I don't actually think it's a cancellation fee. Like, the assessment was $500 but that included all of the leadup stuff that I did - various testing, surveys, etc.; they charged me the same as if I had showed up for the appointment. If it's another $500 when/if we ever manage to reschedule I'll fight about it.

Finally got my assessment rescheduled. For May. Apparently the person who wasn't rescheduling me no longer works there. Meanwhile I just get to keep coping shittily til mid May. Also I had to cancel my mental health therapy appt because of a shelter care hearing and now I have to go to a GP appt after my hearings this afternoon because the rest of my body has decided to rebel in addition to my brain. I want to go back to bed.

@saosmash said in The ADD/ADHD Thread (cont'd from Peeves): I want to go back to bed. I have the LSAT scheduled for Saturday. In the middle of my mom's latest psychotic break and murder threats for testifying against her boyfriend that pulled a gun on us and made more murder threats. And also while trying to find a new place to live closer to work. The LSAT was an expected drain on my limited reserves of focus. The other two, not so much. I feel you on just wanting to go back to bed. I think I would like to stay there until sometime early next year. But we'll both get through our various deals because we're too stubborn to do anything else.
