Legends of the Old Republic - In Progress Star Wars Game

Thanks! Now I kinda wonder if I can play Bastilla or someone. @__@
-
No FCs will be allowed. We are going to be an OC only game.

This is a very very good thing.
-
Very, very, very good.

I am already working on concepts. So far my favorite is a Jedi who isn't a terribly good Jedi (he's a little too fond of nice robes and comfortable suites at the Four Sectors), but he is a pretty good diplomat. He's also haunted by the nagging force ghost of his great-grandmother who was a great Jedi and wants him to do better.
"When I was your age, I'd already helped bring the pirates of the outer rim to justice!"
"Well, I was thinking of trying out that new Sullustian sushi place near Senate Plaza. That's a step in the right direction, I think."

That's actually kind of brilliant. =D

@ZombieGenesis Do we have the setting yet? I see you mentioned two planets, one of which is Dathomir (unless you didn't actually mean Nighsisters), but what's the other?
-
Code is taking priority right now over theme so I don't have that locked down yet. The planets will be original creations and they'll be a Nightsister-like group of force users.
-
Did you end up settling on a system and how to adapt it? Or traits or what not?
-
We're using Savage Worlds. My intent is to make things as simple as possible with The Force likely just being an arcane background. I'll go through the powers list to make sure all the "Jedi-like abilities" are there and add any that may be missing. Still pondering how to handle the dark side in a "fast and furious" manner.
-
Guess it's time to figure out what savage world is.
Are you making a full fledged Savage World plug-in for Ares? Web Cg and roller and all that stuff?
-
Don't know if you are aware, but there is a pretty complete Savage Star Wars game on the net. I used it as the basis for the Chargen I worked on for my scrapped New Republic era game.

That looks pretty cool actually. I might have to learn Savage Worlds just so I can figure out what's going on here.
-
Savage Worlds is amazing. Savage Rifts might be neat to look into, as well.
-
What's the minimum lore investment to be able to play? The references to in-canon historical events make me worry.
-
Kind of sounds like if you ever played the Knights of the Old Republic games you should be good.
If not, it's honestly not that different from the prequel movies. The Old Republic is basically the same government, Jedi are a massive peacekeeping/diplomatic monastic order, the story beats are all pretty recognizable.
I think if you read over the Wookiepedia article for the summary of what the conflict was you'll probably be set.
-
Just read the title crawl and you'll be good.
-
My intention is to make the game as easy to slide into as possible. The Mandalorian Wars(and subsequent Jedi Civil War) is just a catalyst to get to the core of the theme; rebuilding. We're going to steal a lot from the Clone Wars(which The Old Republic does quite liberally anyway) to make the game more approachable to those who may not be familiar with anything Old Republic related. Imagine The Mandalorian with Jedi as another broken faction rebuilding and questioning what it means to be a Jedi.
You could probably watch the cinematic trailer for The Old Republic MMO and be right where you need to be. At least that's my hope.

Speaking of modifying Ares! How's this going?
