@Roz They were all over IMDB for a long time, I couldn't look up anything. : (

@Cobaltasaurus
Eyeballs are a squick factor for me. I cannot deal with eyeball mutilation.
The Strain is made almost entirely of squick factor, and eyeballs do figure, so... yeah. You do not want. >_>
I it though.

It's so bad, but I keep watching. I even made a Requiem Devotion for vampires who want DAT TUNG.

@Coin

You shut your mouth, there is nothing bad about The Strain.

It'd be less bad if that jackass kid would get killed off already, UGH. I want him to get eaten so bad. But then I fear he'll get taken to be the new body of the Master and then we'll have a terrible child actor wearing the most amazingly goofy mask in the world. O The Strain.

@thebird SyFy went back to it's roots.
The new season of Defiance is great, a much more indepth look at Nolan's past with irisa.
Killjoys is completely enjoyable and addictive. Dark matter is certainly ramping up and getting more interesting every episode.
I'm looking forward to The Expanse, and Childhood's End later this year.

I was impressed with that mini three part series... Where they were on a space ship... From the 50s or whatever. Naturally the second I need to know the name, I've gone braindead.
Anyway, does seem that SyFy has finally gotten the hint again. I'm excited. Love that channel so much. Or I did, anyway. -
"Ascension." It's on Netflix now.
I didn't love it, but it and a lot of their recent programs at least suggest they're kind of trying again.

Impressive work by the casting department finding an even MORE unlikable kid. -
Damn, Dark Matter is getting good. Gooder.

I know it's not TV but I can't be arsed to make a whole new thread for movies.
You heard it here first!

Nobody's watching True Detective? The last three or four episodes have been fantastic! I can only describe this season as post-modern noir.

Thing to note about that is that it wasn't just SyFy, but I think CBC Canada as well. So I guess I'm just saying don't get too excited about it because of that.
-
True Detective had a much slower burn than last season, and possibly suffered from dividing the attention between 4 protagonists, but it has gotten great in the end, and I am sad it is about to be over.

I love noir so much, I really didn't mind the slow burn. Vince Vaughn is really good as a criminal and was a really big surprise. Usually slower shows, it takes about three episodes to get into, but this took four or five. I'm going to be sad when it's over too.
-
I find True Detective to be a little ... trying too hard, this season. Vince Vaughn is fantastic, though. I like the characterizations, to a point, but the plot sucks and the amount of coincidences needed to move it along are astronomical, which is a little eh.
I still watch it, though.

There was an article somewhere from SyFy's hierarchy where they admitted they royally fucked up by changing their name and making it clear they wanted to distance themselves from their own fan base.
That said, and some time has passed. I'm in love with Killjoys, completely enjoying Defiance and Dark matter, and I'm getting back into Dominion.
Looking forward to The Expanse, but thanks to Charles Dance's little in-character-like teasers... really want to see Childhood's End.
