The CW DCTVU crossover this year was amazing.

I need Superman to get his own spinoff show. Like, right fucking now.

I need all the DC movies to tank so we can just get a proper Justice League TV show.

The crossover also did and set up exactly what I was expecting it to.

      Overall, super pleased.

I was super pleased, yeah, though IMO, I hope Ruby Rose gets better direction for her show, because I know she can do a lot better than what we saw.

Next year's crossover is gonna be AMAZEBALLZ.

tyler Hoechlin leading a new Superman TV show would be just spectacular, especially since television finally has the special effects to make a decent flying, super-strong hero. It should be as good as Lois & Clark, with better SFX. (Yes, L&C is my go-to for live-action Superman references, despite having watched all ten seasons of Smallville).

Who else is watching The Titans? Man, that series is good! It's got its flaws, but I love the way they're basically exploring the DC universe using Dick Grayson as a constant plot device to draw in characters from all corners of the setting.

I mean they just had a full episode of Hawk and Dove. And they drop F-bombs all the time.

Now if they could just somehow get the rights to actually use Batman even as a small cameo now and then...or Bruce, at least. It barely even strains the budget, dammit, he doesn't need special effects to show up and be all grumpy.

Titans is really great so far. I really liked the Hawk and Dove episode, save for a bit of ngh (spoiler), but I can live with it, I guess.

                Oh nooooo, Raven smiles.

                Good.

Raven never smiling is the most boring extreme you could take that character to. She has smiled in the comics and every other iteration of the Teen Titans ever, at some point or another, and presenting a teenager surrounded by superheroes who doesn't crack a smile once in a while would really just destroy my suspension of disbelief--and I was okay with the Flash and Supergirl slowing down time by moving around the earth very quickly in opposite direction as if that's how anything actually works at all.

Besides, if you haven't seen it, you have no idea why she smiles, so your opinion is invalid. πŸ˜›

I expected 'Deadly Class' to be complete bullshit and garbage.

I am pleasantly surprised with the pilot.

It's gonzo. It's somewhat surreal. If you can't deal with 'over the top', skip this one. It doesn't seem to be as impossibly absurd as Wanted, but it seems to lean that way.

It's set in the 80s and not only hits on many modern critiques of the flaws of the 80s, but does it in a way that doesn't flinch away from the characters having some of those biases, too. (It appears to be trending in a direction that suggests these biases will be addressed, rather than glorified.)

I want to see where this one goes.

                            Oh fucking well.

Killing Eve is the female-driven serial-killer show I never knew I wanted.

I never knew how badly these things were missing from my life. Do I sound like a crazy feminist? That's OK. I feel like I'm tasting fresh fruit for the first time in my life when all I've had before was fruit-flavoured wine-gums.

I feel a bit guilty reducing this wonderful show to just the female factor but honestly I think the way this feels so novel is a testament to how rare it actually is on telly, even today. Finally a show about women that isn't just about 'women's issues' like boyfriends and fashion and gossip and dating and weddings or even more grave topics like rape and breaking the glass ceiling. Like don't get me wrong, there's a time and place for that too, it's just so refreshing to for a change see such diverse female representation all in one show where no character is defined merely by being female; there is no 'token female character' because over half the cast is female and each is depicted as an actual person with individual mindsets and motivations. Hallefreakinglujah.

Beyond that, I will admit my tastes have ventured darker of late, and so often when you go 'dark' you go 'male', in fiction. It's the association of aggression/violence/grit and even more positive traits, like intelligence β€”Β this is a noir, of course there's a scatterbrained yet brilliant detective β€” with masculinity. How refreshing for this not to be the case.

It's also just a great show, period. Sandra Oh and especially Jodie Comer as Villanelle are amaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazing.

It is a great show in its own right, feminist delight aside. I just have to point out that aspect of it because I just got into it, and I know that when redacted showed up on Eve's doorstep at the end of the pilot there was a shocked part of me going, 'Wait, another distinct female lead on this show? Don't we already have two? The show already passes the Beschdel Test! We get a third?' It was like literally Christmas and I do not expect such gifts from the TV Gods.

Also that pilot was really good, start to finish. Some shows get off to a rocky start; not this one. It hit the ground running. That ice-cream scene at the very beginning was so captivating and well done that I had to replay it to fully appreciate the way they expressed the character using no dialogue and nothing more than her attempt to smile.

You know, it just occurred to me: It's possible Netflix is cancelling the Marvel shows because Marvel wants the characters for potential movie outlets.

We'll never know, but it makes as much sense as Netflix not wanting to admit if the shows were too costly.

@thenomain I heard it was Disney's doing, as Disney is launching their own streaming service this year/next year, and they had to go this route for licensing purposes to be able to launch it with the new service. IDK if it's true or not, but those are the rumors I've heard.
