I'm closing my GoFundMe. A friend just pointed me to a friend of his who was offering to help people and she sent me everything else I need.

I'm.... in shock, tbh. Like, completely. I've literally been praying daily (and am not religious) for a way to figure this out. To be able to pay bills, feed myself, feed my cats, etc..

So, help is out there. It may not be easy to find (and you may have to swallow anxiety, fear, pride, etc. to talk to people), but it's there.

Glad to hear it. Some help is on the way though, Unemployment benefits get a massive increase once it gets signed into law, plus a stimulus check. So keep hope alive.

Pay no attention to me. I'm old, jaded and generally unfriendly. I am prone to fits of stupidity, but I am still unique, just like everyone else. ~~ Current President of the Anti-Faraday fan club.

@insomniac7809 and I may or may not need some guidance in dealing with his employer. Anyone familiar with labor law in Pennsylvania or able to point us in the direction of resources?

Why don't you PM with some details? I may be able to help if it relates to federal law.

Yeah, I've passed that news (unemployment) along to a few people I know who are out of work due to this.

Spoonflower (they make printed fabrics) is offering one of their fabrics for free to people who are willing to sew masks for healthcare facilities. (They themselves, at their office, are using remnants to make masks!)

All you have to do is fill out this form.

This is a great venture and I suggest sharing it to anyone you know who sews.

Checking in to check up on folks here and make sure everybody's still OK out there. (Or as OK as we can be.)

                Oh fucking well.

Udemy has released a bunch of free courses. Many are focused on helping people do work/school from home, but not all: https://www.udemy.com/courses/free/

So sort of relevant. This is what has come of my family time during this pandemic. My teenage sons included their younger brother and they ended up with a charity. We spent a lot of time doing really amazing things so far.

This is truly and virtuously awesome.

@Ganymede thank you. Just choosing to spend the time giving and helping. We see it as an opportunity to grow as individuals. We had some amazing conversations with our children and community. We do five deliveries a week now for neighbors out of this for individuals that are homebound and we are sanitizing and dropping off basic goods. We had planned on a three game basketball road trip but decided to spend that money on this. We live in a poor ethnically black rural area where only one cell tower provides any coverage on one carrier. And I have really good and caring sons. I know it seems cheesy probably but just proud.

@buttercup Can I just say thank you for having a 5 buck button? I can't donate much, but that much I could handle, so it made me feel good to do it, without the guilt of not being able to do more. ❤

@Macha Thank you. We won't take more for donations then five dollars. My wife and I are paying for most of it if I am being honest and we do ok. It's our privilege and something we are happy to do. It allows our sons to grow. Thank you so much I promise to make sure someone gets some essentials on your behalf.
