I'm not familiar with Song of Seare myself, but some of the series my kids in that age bracket like are:
Ranger's Apprentice - fantasy adventure, kinda junior LoTR
Keeper of the Lost Cities - telepath, elves, world parallel to ours sort of thing
Wings of Fire - dragons have their own game of thrones I guess
@misadventure I highly recommend 'The Chronicles of Prydain, by Lloyd Alexander. Wonderful series that taps into Welsh mythology. About the same length as the Chronicles of Narnia, book-wise.
The first two books were (poorly) spliced together for Disney's 'The Black Cauldron' animated film.
Been listening to Project Hail Mary on audiobook. This book is delightful. Done by the same guy as The Martian, and just as hard-science with wonderful characterization.

TL;DR: Dude 'translates' Dracula into Swedish in 1899. It takes people just about a century to realize he didn't translate it as much as... basically write a whole new fan-fiction version of it with more eroticism, less vampiric stuff, and some kinda social Darwinism commentary.
