RL things I love

@apu
Mostly I was looking at getting that service 'cause of the extra gaming content. VRV, that's the name ofi t.
-
Here's a RL thing I love: The color I got in this batch of pomegranate chardonnay jelly https://imgur.com/a/Djm3e

-
@apu I'm starting a little home jelly/jam business and I already have two events lined up where I'll be selling.
-
Please let me know how that goes.
-
@apu I will! I'm just trying to find creative ways to make a little money during a time when I can't work conventional jobs due to medical issues.

I cry in my sleep sometimes. And some nights, I guess, it's worse than others.
...on those nights, I am immensely grateful for my cat. She's there for me. And I don't mean in the sense of being able to wake up and cuddle her.
She wakes me up. She makes me wake up. She will lick my cheeks or nip at my ears or paw at my face until I wake up. She will purr as hard as she can. She will force me to wake up and cuddle with her until I calm down and return to a restful sleep. Then, and only then, will she go back to her usual spot at my feet.
She is an amazing, wonderful creature and I am so, so lucky to have her in my life.

My fucking cat bites me in my sleep.
Asshole.

As a sidenote, I'm really looking forward to playing on Flashpoint: Gotham as Victor Fries.
He is, by far, my favorite character from B:TAS.
Can't. Hardly. Wait.
-
@ganymede I have been considering trying for Grifter maybe, but I am not as familiar with him in DC as I was in Wildstorm.
-
My cat Meshka was a very awesome, very nurturing cat like it sounds like your kitty is with you.
Meshka was the kitty who'd lay in bed with me while I was sick during the adjustment period to Zoloft. She'd lay right by my head so I wouldn't have to reach too far to pet her, she'd stay with me until I felt well enough to get out of bed and made sure I was okay.
I miss her.

@apu
I am re-adjusting to Wellbutrin after having been off of it for a month due to financial reasons.
Ike has been a very good nurse kitty today, sticking by me and watching over me to make sure I'm okay.
Cats like her are why I get really angry at the people who insist cats 'can't love.'

@auspice Texas seems to have more requirements for Medicaid than the states I've lived (gotta love how simply being hella poor isn't enough), but you might want to look into it if money is really tight. Who knows? You might qualify.

I've got health insurance, but I'm just a medical mess and a half. None of my meds by itself is more than $15/mo, but the whole lot of 'em run me close to $100/mo. Last month money was tight because I had to miss a few days of work due to that epic flu that went around. Most months I can do it, last month was just rather hellish (my job has no PTO, so if I don't work because sick... I don't get paid).

@auspice Have you tried GoodRX? Depending on your insurance, you may not necessarily get a lower rate, but I've used it and found it helpful. It gives coupons for discounts. It also does price comparisons for different pharmacies.
NeedyMeds Storyline is another prescription discount app that also has the following features:
- Medication reminder
- Symptom tracker
- Daily mood tracker and journal
- Vitals tracker (e.g. weight, blood pressure, etc.)
- Pain rating scale
- Ability to sync with wearable devices (e.g. Fitbit)
There also is Free Drug Card, which the site claims "is a nationwide Prescription Assistance Program (PAP) sponsored by a non-profit organization to help all Americans lower their prescription drug costs. This program has LOWEST PRICE LOGIC to guarantee that you get the best deal on your prescriptions. Print your FREE discount prescription drug coupon card below. This free Rx coupon card will provide you with Rx medication savings of up to 90% at more than 68,000 national and regional pharmacies across the country including: Walgreens, CVS Pharmacy, Walmart Pharmacy, Rite Aid, Kroger, Kmart Pharmacy, and Safeway."
And if none of those help, you can always ask if your physician has samples that can tide you over. Some manufacturers also have assistance programs for qualifying people.
I'm sure it goes without saying, but abruptly stopping certain medications can be dangerous, and I'm gonna shut up now before I start ranting about the U.S. pharmaceutical industry and how I think it's immoral that some people have to go without medication.

I tried GoodRX last month and sadly, none were lower with it. I hadn't heard of the other two, so I'll check 'em out. Thanks!

I love love love Thanksgiving. It’s my favoritest holiday (since I love to cook!!). I have my turkey dry brining in my fridge, I get to do a couple of make ahead things to tuck into the oven tomorrow, we have 12 to feed tomorrow, all chosen family and my crew, with some folks making their famous sides and bringing yummy things. I get to clean off the good china (since we will need it to extend our regular plates!)
Nothing makes me happier than feeding folks and seeing them enjoy good food and great company!
I don’t like the history behind it at all, but it’s nice to have a non religious feasting holiday. Not that it stops me from having feasts then too!
The last month or so has been so dreadful. It’s nice to be on a happy heart buzz.

Y'all, my aunt:
I am torn between holy wow I love that woman and goddamn jealous rage at the skill.

They're closer to you than to me. >.> She made this for their household in MD.
My Thanksgiving will be me and two coworkers here in TX. I will, between tickets, be nibbling at whatever one coworker is bringing in. Something about turkey legs, potatoes, mac and cheese, cheesecake, and copious amounts of alcohol.
