@darinelle i hear you. Everyone is asleep still, all the dogsitting dogs are piled on the couch, i have some captain crunch and hot chocolate and it's nice and quiet. Hmmmm.
-
Just finished up a backup D&D character for our Saturday game. I'm really excited about possibly playing as her, or, if my cleric doesn't die or something, perhaps playing her in another game.

I'm really happy with the computer and the fact that it's taken me so long to save for it makes me extra happy. And it's mine.
And just because I want to offer specs on what I bought for the computer people in the house.
That is almost identical to what I got a few months back.
The SSD drive is perhaps the most significant source of joy. -
While I hate that I spent the last month-ish working 6-7 days a week, tons of OT... It paid off.
I had enough left over after rent and car insurance (my 'first of the month' bills) to get a proper vacuum cleaner (been using one of those $20 dirt devil ones and they're sort of useless when you have a cat who is the messiest eater ever I swear) and...
...
A DESK. (One of the cheapest ones I could find, so I'm sure I'll be putting L-brackets and shit to hold it together within 6 months, but wtfever)
I WILL FINALLY BE ABLE TO GAME AGAIN.
Also to work from the desk during my morning at-home work hours. Which my back will thank me for. I've been sitting at this sofa for far too long. Lower back pain has been my bane for a few weeks.
-
@auspice I gave away a desk a few months ago. I had no idea you needed one. Sorry.

These things happen.
Hopefully the one I ordered isn't absolutely terrible and I won't have to buy another in a couple months. WE'LL SEE. -

I love my friends. When talking about our upcoming V5 short chronicle:
Me, as ST: Well, that's also why Session Zero includes a group chargen session; because you guys will be building a functioning (even if it's not a HIGH functioning) coterie. Plus the Relationship Map and everything.

My coworker apparently telling a user their computer is "pdf confused."

I am extremely jealous of my kid. I took him into daycare and apropos of absolutely nothing, he started ducking around corners and ninja running from shadow to shadow, and if I did that at my workplace they'd probably have me committed.

I don't know where to put this.
In trying to improve my world building, my brain threw the word "noirpunk" at me.
I didn't know whether to be angry at its redundancy, or feel like this is a brilliant mostly-untapped concept.
Mostly I love to throw my word-salad at people and see what happens.

@thenomain That conjures visions of the old art deco like whoa Metropolis -- but set in the (to use a comics comparison) Gotham, rather than the Metropolis, of that world.
This is not at all a bad thing for something to conjure and strikes me as something that could be really dang cool.
-
@thenomain 'Noirpunk' conjured images of Blade Runner to my mind. I've no idea if this is accurate, but that's what I got.
-
I think you're both right, a subset of Cyberpunk, or a kind of what I've also found being called "Tech Noir".
Cool.

Cool.
The 40s vibe in Bladerunner hit right after I hit submit, so I agree with Tinuviel as well on that.
-
The alarm on Alexa works simply because I'm so out of it in the morning I can't remember the word "snooze."
By the time I can formulate the words "Alexa, snooze," I'm awake.

Cool.
Neon Noir is good too.

Mile 22 is such a MUSH movie. I had an awesome time at the theater, laughing my ass off. Marky Mark is a terrible actor but the rest of the crew ain't bad. And it has Rhonda Rousey in it (who was the PB of my first PC on TR, who was also a smartass like the character she plays in this film)!
I don't think it's worth the price of a real theater ticket. However, I love that I can turn to my spouse and both of us say at the same time "jesus christ, this is SO a MUSH movie."
I mean it has it all. The "leader" who is supposed to be a badass too but just comes across as a giant egotistical dickbag, the hot ass-kicking asian teen schoolgirl types, shredding apartment buildings and cars and all of that with nary a cop in sight, and John Malkovich.
Though thank god this is like the shortest movie I've seen in the theater in years! So it's very unmushlike in that at least your ass is not stuck your seat for 4 hours to move through what in-game is probably 45 minutes.

I found this purely by accident yesterday.

IF you like Marvel, and off-characters like Spider-Gwen, Squirrel Girl or Kamala Khan's Ms. Marvel, this is for you. it's a 30 minute compilation of 10 minute shorts that, from what I can tell, may get a full cartoon series.
It was funny, the animation was good and overall... very good.

Bath bombs. I don't even care if that makes me the Beckiest Becky who ever Becky'd. DON'T CARE.
Lush bath bombs, specifically.
Don't judge.
Or do. My skin feels great and I am chill and relaxed. So you're just jealous if you judge.
