Mmmm, why does soup always taste even better the next day? I have baked potato soup and pumpkin sausage soup and they are soooo good.

Also, getting to hear my 3 year old chirrup "I'm a hot dog!" to everyone who looks even sideways at him while he's wearing his costume is pretty adorable.

I remember having a conversation with someone once where they theorized that the sign of a good meal is that you could make the leftovers into a sandwich the next day.

They also did not like soup.

I am so glad that years of mushing before and after I became a parent has trained me to be used to finding some people's stupid, adolescent, clumsypuppy drama whore antics strangely both simultaneously endearing and make me want to go over and kill them. It serves me well in parenting 3 teen boys.

@wildbaboons I like making my leftovers (depending on what they are) into stock, stew, or soup. :). I'm not a fan of soup made up of non roasted/cooked items. (For example I keep all of my bones/carcasses from roasts, often save the leaves/trimmings of veggies, and all of leftover vegetables in the freezer until I'm ready to make my broth vase or soup proper.

Though I guess I do make an exception for my pumpkin soup, that pumpkin comes from a cab because I can't be assed to roast/cook my own pumpkin!

It's hard to have 'things I love' right now because being off my meds has been hitting me really, really hard the past few days.

But I managed another perfect 100 in my last class. It was a Sci-fi/Fantasy workshop, in fact. I still need to put the sci-fi story up on my portfolio site (I know at least one person was interested in reading it). The fantasy one is being held back; it's a three-part that will work as a prologues to a trilogy I've been working on for some time.

A couple of days ago, we bought some frozen cookie dough from Hope's Cookies. I just went downstairs wanting cookies and we had the following conversation:

"Can you make cookies?"
"They're in the oven."
"....You mean the ones from the other day?"
"No, I mean I mean they're cooking in the oven right now."
"But... I didn't ask you to make cookies yet."
"Yeah, but they're in the oven."
"Already?"
"Yes."

I mean, it'd be great if he could tell me the winning lottery numbers or something, but I will settle for the selective ESP ability of "Knows When Girlfriend Wants Fresh Cookies."

I dunno. I mean, Mrs. @Faceless sounds pretty awesome and while I'm mostly straight, I could make an exception for someone who reorganizes and carefully plans my entire goddamn mess of a life and then rewards me for it with stickers and fancy coloring pens. I see potential for a swap here.
