7th Sea?
-
Okay, getting my digital RPG library back in order, I'm wondering if there's interest in building a 7th Sea MU, using the original rules and the extra lore from Swashbuckling Adventures? I'm thinking of starting small and gradually growing; starting with a 'sea grid' and a central 'refuge' for a piracy & exploration game, gradually adding in grids or various nations & their courts for L&L and intrigue play.
Any interest?

@runescryer I think it could be cool. If you don't mind my asking, why 1st edition as opposed to 2nd Edition?

I'm generally okay with 2nd Editions mechanics. I'm honestly 50/50 on just using 1e or incorporating the 2e rules into the 1e setting. It's just my opinion that 2e is very easy to go Extra Sharp Cheddar Cheese with C-Gen to make unstopabble killing machines. Also, I'm really not a fan they way they nerfed Glamour to only 30 practitioners IN TOTAL at any one time. And ditched Dracheneisen for Hexxenweissen. I do like Hexxenweissen, but think it would make a better Secret Society special, since there's dark, spooky things all over Thea and restricting it to Eisen only sort of negates the darker fairy tales of England, France, Italy, Russia, and Iceland/Norway.
I also like the Sarmation Commonwealth and the Demon summoning magic (can't remember offhand), but again, against the balance of original Thea, I'd rather convert those and fit them in than go with a straight 2e game. I guess call is 7th Sea Edition 1.5

I think either system would take a lot of house ruling to work in a MUSH, but I generally prefer second edition, if it's down to a vote.

@greenflashlight Wasn't really putting it up for a vote. Just explaining my reasons why I'm not big on 2e. The only real discussion is to go with the Classic 1e setting & mechanics or try to convert the Sarmation Commonwealth, the summoning magic, and Hexenwassen magic/society into the Classic setting and 1e mechanics.
