New Animal Crossing New Horizons Content - Who's Hyped?
-
So the Animal Crossing Direct was on Friday. I am so hyped, started a new island and am trying to plan out all the fun stuff I'm going to do with the base game as well as the DLC. Anyone else excited about it and planning on playing it?
-
@tiredewok Me! I just started playing it on the Switch, so brand new island. I had forgotten how much the early days sucked of having nothing, but I'm looking forward to the new content.
-
I should stop being lazy and actually play, but I am always stressing out over island name.
-
OMG, yeah, it's so much work. And it is so slow if you don't time travel, which I am forcing myself not to do this time. Not that I think it is cheating. I just want to relive when I first started playing it last year when I didn't.
Names hang me up, too, But -
-
@tiredewok I'm bad about time traveling. I don't have the patience to wait for each new day to start and just play it for awhile at a time. I run out of stuff to do too quickly, so I go forward a day.
The new content should be a lot of fun. Too bad it's the last free download, but I'm buying the DLC stuff, as well. I figure working on resort islands should be hours and hours of fun. It will suck up all my time.
-
And there's definitely nothing wrong with how you play the game. I am very much the same way. Sooooooooooo impatient and I want everything to happen RIGHT NOW! But I am challenging myself to not do it this time.
It is a bit of a bummer that 2.0 and the DLC will be the last big updates. Am hoping they'll still do minor ones like introducing new holiday stuff and other little things like that.
Normally I am not fond of games with a sim-feel to it. The Sims and other similar games are just meh to me. But HHP... I need it right now! I am sure the AC aesthetic has a lot to do with the appeal it has for me.

HYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYPE!
Like many people, I started playing ACNH at the start of the pandemic, when we were all stuck at home anyways. I dropped off after it seemed like I was down to grinding out for items and such. So this is looking awesome.

...fun fact i have the ACNH edition switch... >_>
(It's the third switch i've bought lol. i had a regular, sold it, bought a lite, and then sold it when they re-released the acnh version... and also cause playing octopath follower on tiny screen was killing my eyes)
-
@cobalt I have the ACNH Switch, as well. Got it for Christmas last year, but never set it up because I hate the Lite and was playing that. Then moved, so finally set up the Switch. And I was playing Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword on the Lite and having trouble reading the text. Didn't realize how much stuff I was missing until I actually started playing on a big TV.
Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is another good one if people haven't played it. Plus, there's a second game coming out next year.
-
I have been wanting the ACNH Switch forever. Would love to have a second island for streaming and then a personal island for when I want to play just to relax and enjoy myself.
I'd love to get some more Zelda games. I have Link's Awakening. It's fun, but yeah. Zelda and Metroid. Must have.
If anyone would like to send me a friend's request, my friend code is: SW-2038-8634-9021. Would love to have friends to invite over to my island.
-
Haha. The 'no time travel' lasted a day. XD Darnit. Oh well. I made it a day and a half without doing it.
-
So, for those playing the new DLC stuff... has anyone figured out the cooking thing yet? I don't have the materials to make the cooking station that's in the recipes, but I figure I need that. But... how do you get all the various ingredients? I haven't figured that part out just yet.
-
Okay. Lief sells starters for the various crops - what he has varies from visit to visit or, if you have him at Harv's Plaza I think the crop starter he offers changes weekly. You can also find them and dig them up if you find them on a Kapp'n island and replant them on yours. Then you water them for a few days to get full crops like you do the pumpkins.
You need to buy the starter cooking DIYs. You get them either at the cabinet at the Nook's Cranny or via Miles, I can't remember which. Then you make a kitchen DIY table or use a stove, etc. It works like a DIY bench. Then you just make the stuff and ta da. Food.

@tiredewok You are awesome. Thank you! Also, I need to add your friend code. My island is still kind of sad, though. I don't have a whole lot.
-
Forgot I posted it already... but yeah. Feel free to send me a friend request.

Apparently villagers still get upset when I hit them with the net.
-
Oh man. I remember when it was rumored that you can get villagers to leave by hitting them with a net over and over again. Was so funny.
