ETA: I'm not entirely sure that I have the willpower to address that gently. I told her that Irish immigrants were indentured servitude and had rights, unlike chattel slavery, but if it turns into an argument, I dont know if I can keep Jim Halpert WTF from turning into...

Absolutely not.
Bad is bad, period, but my sarcastic gifs and whatnot to my original post were due to a bit of incredulity from the white Irish indentured servants were treated worse than any other ethnic group in American history statement this friend of mine on FB posted.
Sure, it's a subjective topic, but it's one I'm sure the Native American and African-
importedkidnapped chattel slavery historians would have an opinion or two on. That's all. I don't exactly see where any point in my original statement might have suggested unironically supporting one form of slavery over the other?@Roz said it well: "If you compare the horrors of two things, and you call thing A more horrific, is that...defending thing B???"

@Thenomain I hope you don't have the same thing I've got! I've been miserable for two days, I even took a sick day from work, and that's something that I just don't do. I wouldn't wish this on anyone.

My SO uses a ridiculous amount of body wash per shower.
I use about a dime's worth.
She's like:
She ran out of body wash.
I will now be out of body wash in a week.

What is it with men and cold showers? It's like if it's warmer than testicle temperature it's scalding.
HEAT IS GOOD. MILDLY SCALDING IS BETTER. Stop crying when you climb in next to my wet naked body and your skin burns away, IT'S FINE.

I just refuse to believe this is true.
I take hot showers (or what I believe to be hot) and every guy I've been with has complained that the temperature I set it at isn't hot enough. Now, I know my fibro makes my skin more sensitive than most, but I'm def. not taking a cold shower by any means (because I also hate being cold, cold is terrible).
And I also doubt that I've somehow managed to find the only few guys out there that do like hot showers.

My SO and I are the opposite. I like my showers hot enough that I feel that bite from the heat. She always gets in and turns the heat down to some weird form of lukewarm. I don't mind the hot naked girl as company, but damn...

@Ghost The only partners I've had that didn't cry about the heat have been women, so there's my correlation with testicle-temp being key. My rage is mostly facetious.
Also we use all the god damn body wash because it makes us smell like our partners all day and that's nice. Or at least, that's the way it is for me.

And if you are partnered to a massage therapist, you get the burning hot shower and then at the end a sudden throw down to ice cold! (Free hydrotherapy! Makes you feel like a million bucks and instantly warm once you get out. Try it sometime!) I learned to warn him in advance about the cold water part.
Eta: no I dont recommend instagramming your showers I swear.

Well...since you put it that way, consider my perceptions expanded and I now find myself oddly okay with it. I'm going to do my best not to do the guy thing and ask if she uses all of my body wash to smell like me, because then she'll probably say "when you don't use enough it always runs out before I'm done scrubbing" and the mystique will be ruined.
As for testicle temperature? I dunno about that. Never been an issue with me.

I don't think shower preferences are a gender thing. I'm a guy, and I like my showers so hot that it leaves my skin red after.

Don't know. But women in the office complaining that it's too cold does seem to be common.
