The firefighters at wildfires should not have to warn people to not fly their drone over a wildfire. Come on people!!
Is that a danger to the firefighters, or just a waste of a drone?

https://www.faa.gov/uas/media/FAA_drones_wildfires_toolkit.pdf
Flying a drone near a wildfire is dangerous and can cost lives. When people fly
drones near wildfires, fire response agencies often ground their aircraft to avoid
the potential for a midair collision. Delaying airborne response poses a threat to
firefighters on the ground, residents and property in nearby communities, and it
can allow wildfires to grow larger...The National Interagency Fire
Center (NIFC) says it best: If You Fly, We Can’t. -

If someone is flying a helicopter over an area monitoring the spread or maybe airlifting equipment, firefighters, or water to a hard reach area, they really don't want to have to also worry about colliding midair with a drone flown by Idiot Human Being #6,578,200,635 trying to fucking rubberneck.

If 90% of your full time employees are looking for or have a second job - you are failing them.
Fuck you and your 13 cent raise.
Don't tell someone that 'I know I can trust you." Or 'I know I can give you work and you'll make sure it gets done', and then hamstring them on getting a promotion.
Time to look at other avenues of employment.

@macha What gets me aren't even the corporate efforts to reduce safety nets, unemployment benefits, etc in order to force people to take shitty paying jobs just to keep their families housed and fed. I mean it does but I'd expect no more from them.
No, it's people who are themselves low/middle class, struggling, and who are protesting against those same benefits as some sort of communist/socialist agenda. That is just genuinely crazy - folks opposing their own self-interest on behalf of billionaires.

@arkandel Thank the gods that's not me. I don't know if it's just I've been on unemployment and short term disability before, so I don't want anyone to suffer, or if it's my ODD just flipping off the fucking assholes who try to tell me how they don't want to 'pay for those who won't work' or what.
Yeah. People I helped train in this last year, got promoted. Someone my boss had to take work from, because they weren't getting it done, and gave it to me? They got promoted a tier.
Me? nope. Why? Because in Dec/Jan, my depression and ADHD made it super hard for me to get focused and started first thing in the morning. My boss KNEW it, I went to him about it because I have a LIFE LONG problem with December and January with my depression (Deaths in the family, esp my mother's when I was 3, and my father's behavior in December for that reason every year thereafter until he passed).
Now, my work was still getting done every day, by the end of the day. I was by no means slacking off. They just didn't like the optics of the late start, and then working like a demon (thanks hyperfocus) in the afternoon.
And now they want me to be on the 'Sunshine Squad'? To help get the team to interact more, and to help lift spirits, blah blah blah bullshit? I don't fucking think so.

It's not really that crazy when you consider the fact that many of those people are only just barely making enough paycheck to paycheck to afford the things they need, if they're managing to afford it. Many of them are deeply in debt.
Every dollar out of that check hurts. It's felt viscerally, especially when it pays for a program that most state governments have put up serious hurdles to actually qualifying for. So they're paying money they can't afford for something they can't actually use.
They aren't acting against their self-interest. They're very much acting in favor of it. Although we assume the existence of the program is a long-term benefit for them, that is hardly guaranteed.

I concur, but write separately.
Those living hand-to-mouth are worried about the short-term. Lowering taxes addresses a short-term need. Many of the positions billionaires take regarding budgets and strict spending correspond with their beliefs, which correspond with their lifestyles.
It's hard to sell a person on the idea of investing when they don't have enough each paycheck to pay the rent and eat.

I have a really bad problem right now with getting enough sleep. Part of it is just my brain constantly deciding that sleep is a waste of time and no, really, staying up all night is fine, you can just take a day off from doing that, but the other part of it is that when I do get to sleep, I will sleep like the dead, but cannot seem to scrape past six hours of doing so. The past two weeks it hasn't been six hours, it's almost entirely been 4-5. I have, therefore, conspired over the past few days to force myself to bed as early as possible (there are reasons I need to stay up to at least midnight).
Every. Single. One. of the last three nights, some emergency has sprung up right as I'm on my way. Give the dog meds, take my meds, and boom. A pipe breaks. My incredibly ill father falls down. The computer starts grinding like it's trying to seduce the PS4.
At this point, reality is definitely trolling me, so I'm mad at reality, I guess. Let me fucking sleep, asshole.

We have a real problem with fireworks being set off all times of the year. A lot of us complain and report it to the police because it is //illegal// every day but the 3rd and 4th of July.
A few days ago someone posted a kind "Enjoy your holiday, but after remeber our pets, and neighbors with PTSD, Autism" on Nextdoor and people were calling the poster a Karen for it.
Enrages me.

We have a red flag warning here, and I have friends being super grumpy about people posting anti-fireworks stuff. Like man, the last 3 years in my state, we have had MASSIVE wildfire issues that were directly, DIRECTLY related to people shooting off fireworks. That's why people are grumpy about it when we are SPECIFICALLY under a 'wildfires ack ack ack' warning.
plz don't burn my state down. plz. the stupid wildfire smoke triggers my heart condition.
ohwell. at least I have a mask I can wear when it all lights up. ^^ Will my kn95 keep out smoke particles? Time to find out.

But how will we be able to tell people whether our fetus has a penis or not without fireworks?
-
Right? The danger for fire in the urban area where I live is minimal but come on people.
-
Meanwhile, I still don’t understand why the fuck white people love fireworks so much for any occasion or reason.

We like to pimp our cars out with subwoofers and rims, but get called “ricebois” for it.

Despite living in NA for the past decade, having come from Europe originally all of these weird racist things are so weird to me.
Like, we have our own racism over there. It's just not based on the color of one's skin. But I had to pretty much learn about stereotypes for... fried chicken? And subwoofers, what the hell? That's new!
