Not sure how well sword and sorcery does as a large gaming group setting and action type.

At this point I think I want fantasy enough in a good MU* that I'd actually staff for. It's not something I can say about anything else I can think of.

@Misadventure personally I would run the typical S&S adventures of the week within a larger frame of kingdom vs. kingdom conflict.

I used to play PBM games (yes I'm old), and there was one called Hyborian War. So something like that.

...wow, does this still exist? http://www.reality.com/hwconten.htm

If you've got experience with the genre, and some love for it, you've got enough to make it work. Make it happen!

            Nothin' to do with me.

I'd suggest that anybody doing a GoT MUSH should be prepared to display the proper degree if indifference to Lindaaa.

BTW, besides Steel and Stone and that one other that was GoT-ish but not GoT, what other GoT MUs have there been? What became of 'em?

How about a MU* set in Joe Abercrombie's world? snip

I'd play the hell out something like that.

I'd also play the hell out of Abercrombie's setting. Or, really, any low-magic fantasy setting that isn't Game of Thrones...

It was either Game of Kings or Game of Bones. I think it was the latter that was the 'original setting but still kind of GoTish' but I didn't play on them so can't remember.

Naw, the former. Game of Bones is my one, and is ASoIaF. As far as I know, those are the only ones to have happened.

There was totally another around before I hit Steel & Stone, but I can't for the life of me remember.

Sorry. Can barely remember my own name most days. 🙂

What I would like to see is a MUSH based on the same world as Guy Gavriel Kay's Lions of Al-Rasan, A Song for Arbonne, etc. It's close enough to some themes in our world's medieval era to make it easy to play, extremely low-magic and very engaging, if you ever read either of those books.

Lions was great (and Tigana of course), I didn't know Arbonne was in the same vein, I'll have to check that out.

A game set in the Sarantine court would be pretty cool.

I was so emo when I finished that book. 😞 The duel between ... well, let's not spoil things, certain characters, was handled in basically the best way I've ever read a fight going in a novel.

I was all grrr and :(.
