Coming in 2016 - Bump in the Night
-
Do to events that have nothing to do with anything in my life, MoGo has been quarantined for the purpose of BITN.

Your powers are weak, old man.
-
Not gonna lie, I pine for a late 80s/early 90s WoD game some day, too.
-
@surreality The city is on an all-time high. Indian Gaming is a distant, future threat. The Biggest Little City on Earth is in full swing. A newly elected Kindred Senate is ironing out a truce with the local Uratha. Every street seems to reflect neon and chrome. Cocaine flows as easy as blood and money in the city streets. The year is 1985. Welcome to Reno's New Wave.
-
@tragedyjones I don't know whether to cut you or hug you.
...still, though. Hollywood, man. NNNNNGH.
-
Did they have cell phones in 1980??? I like having those in my RP.
-
Nope. One of the main advantages of the setting: google doesn't solve every mystery, and communications are trickier.
-
@surreality
And Surreality discovers the secret of why I set all my table tops in the late 90's if set in the real world. -
I do like cell phones, but also like not being able to google it. Late 90s seems ideal. Though I have issues with any setting not set in the present. Trying to remember what did and didn't exist, what did and didn't happen, all of that is too much work on my brain.

There's a good reason for this!
Edit: also 80s music. Because.
-
80s music is inferior to 90s music.

Pitch: Although this isn't a World of Darkness MU*, allow/encourage/bribe people to release their favorite former PCs from WoD games as the NPC monsters they could be in a world like yours.
Let them go all comic-book like alternate universe evil versions of their biggest hits and see what kind of havoc they can wreak on their new ones (and everyone around them).
-
@Arkandel You mean... My hunters would get the chance to stake some old, witchcraft-using priest that's pretending to be a servant of the Lord?!
I like it.
And, seriously, I do like it. Obviously players would be able to create their own monsters, but I'd be more than happy to collect some old PCs and run them as NPCs, or to help a player run their past PC as an NPC. It sounds like a very fun idea.

This is giving me ideas.

My worry is that people who are enthused about "Yay, my old and beloved PC is tearing some mortal shit up," are going to be considerably less enthused that, "Oh, wait, my old and beloved PC is being staked, beheaded and buried under holy ground." Or that people's "NPCs" are going to be stealth ways of making monster PCs on a mortals game.
-
@Pyrephox I think most people who run something like this would do it to have fun. If not, that's what @Tragedyjones is for, let him deal with the drama while we play his game.

Yessss, because "you're playing my character wrong" drama is definitely going to be confined to staff, and not result in petulant meltdowns on public channels and page drama. Because WoD players NEVER have petulant meltdowns and page drama over things that should be fun and games.
