@Insomnia Do you know how to get steam to add it? I go to the hitman page and it just has the bundle there.
-
@Jaded It's the Download Demo button on the side. Apparently it's the first part of the game, not the first episode, just Paris as far as I can tell.

That's strange since the website you linked specifically says, "IO interactive, having now secured its independence, is celebrating by making the first episode of Hitman available to download completely free."
First episode. Not demo.
ETA:
Checking the Steam forums and it is just the demo. Pretty misleading by VG24/7.
-
@Jaded Not just VGA, seems like any article I found said the same thing. I had to dig a bit to find it was the demo.

Steam is running their huge Summer Sale right now until July 5th. I just got an email that 40 items from my wishlist are on sale (of a wishlist of 49 items).
-
I've been waiting for Torment to go on sale.
Fuck me, now is not a good time for spending more money!
At least I can get fuel points out of the gift cards, right? That makes it not as bad, right?!
-
Having gotten Torment, I did not enjoy it. I find the $$$ to Fun ratio to be too low (even at sale price) but that's also just me. I value the game at about $12.
-
How does it compare to Planescape: Torment? I did not play it for the graphics or the models; I played it for the story, which was end to end insanely amazing.
-
Tides of Numenaria is an okay story. The big problem with the game is about 70%of what was promised to come in the kickstarter did not make it in, so if you were following the KS and were hoping for THAT game you're not going to get it.
If you're looking for a decent RPG in the same style of Pillars of Eternity, Baldur's Gate, etc. Then it is not too bad although Tyranny may be a better purchase.
Edit to add that I do not own Tyranny but I got a review copy of it that let me get through part of the first act, when it was just coming out. So I can not give you a decent full comparison.
-
I agree with Jaded on that. Tyranny was a more satisfying experience for me.
Also, I do not play games for graphics. I play them for story, mechanics, and fun. There just was something about Torment that left it feeling lackluster to me. I prefer Planescape over Tides. It's not the worst game ever made, but as I said I just value it at about $12. Tyranny I value at around $16.
As point of reference, I value Skyrim at around $40, Fallout 4 is a $5 (I decidedly hated that game), Witcher 3 was a $25 on the Goblin scale. It's all about $$$ for value/time put in that's fun. Best value atm on Steam for myself; Stardew Valley which I value at about $30 based on time I've enjoyed playing it and Darkest Dungeon which is about a $30 value as well.

Fallout 4 is a $5
Yeah, I gotta agree with this. FO4 is like the Star Wars Battlefront last year, it looked pretty sekzy, but there was only about 5 hours worth of fun to be wrung out of it. If they had a playable demo, I would not have bought it.
-
For me, FO4 was a waste of money. It's boring, it's repetitive, it's boring. There was, other than a new setting, nothing really all that different from FO3. I don't understand the hype. Marketing dollars? Paid shill reviews?

I don't think it was paid reviews or marketing dollars. I think it was just that another settlement sent word that it needs our help.

The lack of demos is purposeful; as is early access 'rewards'. Companies are trying to hook people in to spending the $$$ before the product can be fully evaluated. I got suckered by SWBF myself because of nostalgia.
As for why Fallout 4 was less than stellar (with the caveat for myself), I could have given two shits about the characters so there was no investment. I was about maybe 6 hours in and just leaned back in the chair and thought; I could care less if these people die. IN fact I kind of think they deserve what they get. Turned it off and moved on with life.
-
I regret that I got wrapped up into the fun that others were seemingly having with FO4. I purchased it and later regretted it. But by the time my regret had set in I was past the ability of being able to refund it. I have uninstalled it and have no intention of touching it again.
I missed the SWBF bullet and what compelled me to avoid the nostalgia bug on that was the picture comparison of the things that Battlefront 2 had in it, compared to the things that BF EA would have in it. And that told me enough right there to know that I would not enjoy the EA'ization of BF. I feel vindicated in that decision. It is a horrible game compared to BF2 which they should have used as their standard.

Sega releases every game ever on a Sega console for free on iOS and Android. They are going to release new games every month.

I has dupes of the Camping and Lemonade cards for the summer sale on Steam.
Anyone have Minigolf, Picnic, or Boardwalk to give for 'em?
