So I had a horrible day yesterday. I'm not going into it because no one cares (I'm totally okay with that btw). However, I pulled myself out for RP. I camped down and the people made me laugh so much. It made my day better. They didn't even know I was having a bad one.

I usually have nothing but hate for people who idle in the OOC Lounge waiting for RP to come to them.
But I have come to realize in my old age that many folks are idling there and not waiting for RP to come for the reasons you mention above.
Some people are just damn funny over channels, and laughing at them can be therapeutic.

some days (a lot of them lately thanks to work) I just don't have the energy for RP, but I need to chill and relax in those few hours before I ptfo.
And getting to just bs around with people and have fun? It makes up for the hard day.

Nah, I went and had a scene. However, it may sound horrid, but it took a lot of effort for me to do it. My character is very high energy (and I am most the time IRL) but I was so damn drained and burnt out. I went to RP with 1 person and like three more showed up. However, they were great and the scene was great.
I have hid in my IC room (which doesn't show up on the where) and just channel talked or page bs'ed with people because I'm so out of spoons; but want some happy/funny interaction.
Players who you rarely get to interact with, but every time you manage to it's a god damned pleasure.

But, yes, it was a fine run and I shall treasure the memories of fights about doors and baked goods (and also fantasy adventures).

When people are cool about my random, crazy char coming in on a scene.
When you finish a scene and you just feel...good. Like, it went better than you were expecting (and you already had high hopes for it), everyone was engaged and super engaging, and it feels like you learned something important about each character including your own, and it just leaves you craving more with them.
My IC Family.
Norwood's got some super solid players/characters around him (including all of the people who call him 'uncle' which is seriously the best.)
And Kenna's married-in-family is awesome, as is so much of her Whitehawk/Mercier, even if some of their players flux a lot at times.
In my eyes IC family trumps having traditional relationship RP.
