I don't run the game, I'm just throwing the ad up because I play on it.
The 100: The MUSH
It's been 97 years since the nuclear apocalypse. 97 years that the meager survivors of the human race have lived aboard the Ark, orbiting an irradiated Earth. But life support is failing, and 100 juvenile delinquents, 100 expendable souls, have been sent down to Earth to see if humans can survive on the surface once more.
You are one of those expendables, one of those great hopes, one of those delinquents. You are one of the 100.
We are a MUSH set in a mirror universe of the TV show The 100. Our focus is on survival and exploration -- physical, political, and emotional. As our story progresses, we will open up Grounders and adult Ark personnel for application, but our focus will always be on the Sky People.

Having seen the first bit of this show, I can safely say it'd work well on a MUSH.
"Hey guys, let's go do all this constructive stuff and make sure that we're safe and have shelter, and collect food and supp-"
"NO LET'S ALL FIGHT AND FUUUUUUCK~"
-
@somasatori I think I made the same joke myself when the idea to make the game first came up, after having watched the first two seasons.
Still, the handful of us that are there, I've enjoyed it. If I had never heard of the show or book, I would just treat it like a sci-fi original theme. And for me, that's completely my thing.

Isn't that like... every MUSH ever? Just trying to find the right theme for MUSH players (I jest, it's one that I rather like).

looks at the wiki
sees that it's actually based on the show, with show-style Grounders rather than the OTHER 100 MUSH that had the book-style Gaians.Interest already much higher.

The only good thing that came out of the book(s) is the TV-show! I read through the books to see if there was any decent theme, but not really... too much teen drama for me! But the show is excellent, particularly in seasons two+.
-
Oh, man, this looks neat. I'll definitely check it out later.

The called the Grounders as Gaians in the book?
Huh. That only sounds mildly cheesy to me.
-
@Monogram
The books were different (there was some violence but there was a lot more peaceable relations between the two from what I can find). I guess the Gaians 'peaceful nature hippy guys' thing was something that the other 100 MUSH actually made up whole cloth, or at least adapted there. -
Looks like the game has crashed.
-
Just lagging REALLY badly. Draco is looking into it.
-
@Seraphim73
I think it's something going on with the internet, personally. Everything I've tried to connect to tonight, MU* or otherwise, has given me a timeout issue. -
Okay, not just lagging. Having an issue with the server itself (as opposed to the game). We've contacted the server admin and will have it up again asap. We'll keep the wiki front-page updated.
Edit: Server Admin is saying it's a bad stick of RAM in the remote server. Someone has been sent to fix it.
-
Didn't know sticks of RAM could go bad. Not saying that's not what it is, it's just a computer issue I've never heard of.
-
Just passing along what has been told to me. I'm at third-hand information about an assumption made by someone remotely. Still waiting on the Server Admin for the server to come back up.
-
Anything can "go bad", and by go bad I mean if it has moving parts entropy will eventually kill it, and if it doesn't, errors can be introduced digitally/corrupted.
Bad RAM is not at all uncommon, whether in personal computers, servers, or big SAN data storage systems!

True in the tech world, and true in how I live my life.
-
I am saddened that there is now more on this thread about the server downtime than about the game. Bah.
-
I'm kinda sad that I just pulled up the grit and wherewithal to create a character on this game and now it's down.
